Affirmation Challenge Day 15 [X]: ‘[Insert your affirmation]’

This is Day 15 of the 15-Day Affirmation Challenge held in July 2014, where we practice positive affirmations for 15 days. The challenge is now over but you can do the tasks in your own time. Visit the overview page for all the challenge tasks.Affirmation ChallengeDear everyone, welcome to Day 15 of our 15-Day Affirmation Challenge! :D While today is Day 15, it’s not the last day yet for there’s one last roundup post for tomorrow. So don’t bid your farewells just yet! Here is the overview of all the posts for the challenge so far: Today’s affirmation is the last affirmation for our challenge, and it’s on…

Day 15: [X]

Question mark
 Today’s affirmation: “[Insert your affirmation]”
If you’re wondering for a moment if you’ve received the wrong task for today or if there’s some clerical error somewhere, don’t worry — you didn’t and there isn’t. Today’s affirmation is as what you see above — it’s actually a free-for-all day where you get to create your own unique affirmation.Even though we’re currently in an affirmation challenge, we’ve been doing so much more than just affirmations in the past 14 days. Through the last two weeks, we’ve been identifying our self-limiting beliefs, understanding them, and transforming them into empowering beliefs. We’ve also been identifying the gap areas in various areas of our lives, creating personal action steps in these areas, and acting on those steps, so as to create long-lasting change. Why have I designed the challenge this way? Why not just assign one daily affirmation for all of you to practice every day, void of other action steps? After all, this would certainly make participation easy for everyone. Rather than be busy working on some three to five steps for each day’s task, all you would have to do each day would be to recite that day’s affirmation and declare yourself “done” in the discussion thread. It would also make running the challenge easier for me, since I would save a good three to four hours daily writing task content (not including the one to two odd hours spent looking for the perfect image to create that day’s wallpaper).Well, firstly, like what I’ve said at the start of the challenge, we’re here to create real change. Just chanting affirmations every day isn’t going to cut it — we need to do deep dives, reflect on what we’ve been doing (and NOT doing) in our lives, and make the necessary corrections before change can happen. All these, we’ve been doing to a tee, in the past 14 days. The second, more important reason is that beliefs are actually highly personal, and without creating the right context to understand the affirmations (i.e. recognizing our existing beliefs/behaviors that run counter to the affirmation) and subsequently breaking them, affirmations can, well, be useless. This is why I keep inviting you to identify your self-limiting beliefs and/or self-sabotaging behaviors for each day’s task, understand them, and then correct them — all before practising that day’s affirmation. All these, you have done perfectly, and more. Now that we’ve come to the last affirmation (for the challenge anyway), and given the personal nature of beliefs/affirmations, I thought it’s more than appropriate that I invite… YOU, the architect of your life, to identify YOUR 15th and last affirmation for this challenge. Because this is going to be way more powerful than any other affirmation I could have created for you.Having gone through the 14 affirmation tasks, you should know the right affirmations have the power to transform your life. I’d like you to create an affirmation that is not only meaningful to you, but is an affirmation that you’d naturally want to practice and hold true to your heart every single day for the rest of your life (on top of the 14 affirmations and the positive beliefs you’ve identified). This should be an affirmation that gives you strength, power, motivation, and inspiration, at any second of the day, no matter what you’re feeling at that point in time. Now, let’s get started! :)

Your Task Today

  1. Create your own unique affirmation. You’ve already seen and practiced 14 positive affirmations in the past 14 tasks. You’ve also created your own positive beliefs in these 14 days. Now that we’re at the end of the challenge, what is one positive affirmation you’d like to create for yourself, to help you achieve your greatest success in life moving forward? What is one positive affirmation that’ll have the most meaning to you, that you haven’t already practiced/identified in the past 14 tasks?
    • This affirmation can be based on one of the 14 challenge categories or it can be totally unrelated.
    • The affirmation can be long or short. It’s not the length but the message that’s the key.
    • This affirmation can be a general affirmation for your life or an affirmation specific to an important goal you’re pursuing next.
    • Most importantly, this affirmation should hold a special meaning in your heart.
    • I recommend using words with special meaning to you, so that it’d have an extra special touch.
  2. What’s so special about this affirmation? They say every picture tells a thousand words. Well, every affirmation tells a beautiful story! Why have you created such an affirmation? What is the significance behind it? Do share with us!
  3. Say today’s affirmation:

    “[Insert your affirmation]”

(If you think it’s silly to say this out loud, you can say it silently in your heart.)
I encourage you to write down today’s affirmation so that you can always see it and commit it to your heart. Repeat it every day to yourself, for as many times and as long as needed, until it becomes part of your default thinking.

  1. Your Task Today

    Create your own unique affirmation.

For me, the day2 and day 6 are special. Unconditional self love, and self worth.

My creation is Iam the product of my choice. I chose to live a fulfilled and happiness life. I am
worthy of love, success and happiness, and have the ability to achieve the dreams for my life and make a difference to others.

What’s so special about this affirmation?

I used to believe that I don’t have choices. In fact, either I do something or not do something is my choice.
It’s depends on myself decide to take certain actions or not to take certain
actions, as a consequence, I got the result I like or I don’t like. They said,
as the last freedom human being has, it’s the power to make a choice no matter
    what kind of circumstances.

    Say
    today’s affirmation:

Iam the product of my choice. I chose to live a fulfilled
and happiness life. I am worthy of love, success and happiness, and have the
ability to achieve the dreams for my life and make a difference to others.

My affirmation: No matter what, be happy

Happiness, is most definitely a choice. Too often we make it seem like a by-product of success. But happiness ought to be found in the journey. There’s no point in finishing a major work project if you’re unhappy through the process. There’s no point in allowing someone to make you feel negative. You always are responsible for how you feel. There’s always a choice, no matter what the situation. There’s choice of how you’ll react. Of how you’ll feel. And you can choose to be happy. Recently I saw a friend of mine, whose father had passed away a week ago. She seemed to be her usual happy self, and she was celebrating her birthday, which surprised me a bit. So I went ahead and took the liberty of asking her. Her answer was “I know my father, if his spirit is watching, would want to see me happy right now. If I’ve to put up a sad face, it would only be to please the society. To show up as someone mourning. But, I really am feeling happy. So why should I hide it just to please others?”

Many a times if I’ve lot of work, I tend to get bogged down by it, and would get stressed a bit. If I’m late reaching somewhere I start feeling very bad about it. It seems it’s too easy to allow someoeone to feel negatively. But I do feel, no matter what, we deserve to be feeling happy and positive, no matter what. We owe it to ourselves to enjoy this journey of life. Every second of it. If anything makes us feel in any negative way(sad, afraid, angry), it just means we’re reacting wrongly to it. We just need to take control of our lives back. Choose to feel positively about it. And it’s possible to feel positively about anything. And most often the things we feel negatively about are but specks in our lifespans. Things we’ll definitely laugh about a year later(, if not a week later).

I choose to be happy. All the time!

  3. I believe in myself, even if nobody else does so for me.

It’s special because it gives me strentgh when there is nobody there for me in my most darkest moments or when nobody is there to cheer for me and it’s a phrase I always repeat to myself when I’m sad because it holds a lot of meaning to me. I didn’t even have to think twice what my affirmation would be.

My action step is to write that affirmation as a wallpaper or in front of my notebook, in which I can always see it. :)

  4. urmi shelley 11 years ago

Iwill draw my stregnth from within to complete this work which is so closed to my heart…

  5. I’ve put this task off for a bit, because I really wanted to give it thought and come up with something that will energize me whenever I think of it. Something so motivating, that it can lead me to action even when I don’t particularly want to take action (or if I’m scared).

My thoughts lead me to the heroes of stories I love. In particular, I’m a huge fan of Elsa from Disney’s “Frozen.” I can totally relate to her fears, and I love how she overcomes these fears through the power of love, of all things!

Thinking about my fascination of magic, fantasy, and all of the “super powers” of the inspiring people in the stories I love, I wanted to create an affirmation that made me feel as empowered as when I read about these heroes’ great acts, or sing along to the songs that get me pumped up and feeling like I can do anything. I really wanted to capture for the motivating and inspiring feeling I get from reading, watching, or listening to these stories and music.

“My magic is the ability to achieve my dreams. My power is limitless and in my control. I create the path and the future before me.”

While creating this affirmation, I had two songs in mind: The wonderful, amazing, “Let it Go” by Idina Menzel, and “Holding on to You” by Twenty One Pilots (the latter of the two might require a lyric look-up, as he sings quite fast!). Both of these are very inspirational “pump up” songs for me, and I tried to create a concise essence of them both within my affirmation. I love the songs/movies that show me someone achieving their potential after overcoming something (both of these songs to me imply overcoming self-imposed limits). I just can’t get enough of the inspiration these songs bring me! I’m so sad that “Let it Go” is at that stage where people are sick of it because it’s overplayed, because I really think the message is super powerful.

I’m really happy that I finally came up with an affirmation that truly resonates with me. =)

“I reframe every thought, word and deed from the perspective of the person I have always dreamed I would be. I die to yesterday’s illusions and reborn to the truth of my vision”

The grand finale is here and I want to have an affirmation to sum up the whole journey so I could say just a sentence or two whenever I am discouraged or off the purpose.

PS. I make it short this time because I haven’t got too much time. I saw an wallpaper post. I will try to publish something there as well, but it might be delayed. Same for the round up. I will try my best to post asap.

  7. My favorite affirmations is
“I am worthy of success, love and peak health”

I have seen people from so many field who were looked down upon in school because of their poor grades, but who are doing very well currently.
There are so many affirmations out there, but this one does stand out because I believe that success gets attracted to those who consider themselves worthy of it, have very high self esteem and are confident.

    .

  8. My affirmation today. “I Can Achieve Everything Through Jesus Christ Who Gives Me Strength]”.

This affirmation is the same as the Day3 affirmation on Ability i.e. “I can Achieve anything as long as I set my heart to it”. This one “[I Can Achieve Everything Through Jesus Christ Who Gives Me Strength]” drawn from the Bible with Jesus Christ being my Model and Foundation. What I have been going through does not originate only from a human or material or flesh standpoint. There is also a spiritual background in it.

My life and educational background have been stained with jealousy arising from my childhood environment, from the village where malevolent wizards, witches, juju people stole or deterred my glory or future from me.

Believe or not (one lady participant alluded to that in winning back her husband through the intervention of a benevolent juju man), malevolent spiritual powers exist and oftentimes toss people about and darken their lives through nightmares, spiritual blockings. I blame myself for giving them way and for not standing up earlier to stop through Affirmation and Action.

I am going now to snatch back my long stolen peace of mind, love, happiness, wealth, self-esteem and glory from them and live a full life from now on with the support of my Master Jesus Christ. Amen!!!
In fact this is the time of my physical, spiritual, moral, psychical, financial, material restoration as in the book of Joel 2:25 where God says “ I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten…… the great locusts, the young locusts, the other locusts and the swarm locusts……You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the LORD, your God, who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed….” Amen!!!!

This prophecy is my affirmation in my daily prayers and I take ownership of it right now…

“[ I Can Achieve EverythingThrough Jesus Christ Who Gives Me Strength]“

  9. I love this….metaphorically how a pride of cubs are guided by the lioness, then gently challenged out to try out what they have learn’t…in a vague manner this seems the same….

    1. My affirmation for today: I shall always stand by myself….

    2. What is so special about thus affirmation: Before this challenge, in many ways in my life, I felt lost, lonely? yes that is a close description of the feeling….But with the self-love, the self-worth and the value I have realized in my self I believe that I shall never feel that way if I stand by myself….pushing myself on, there’d be a self-pat on the back, saying good job, a little self-hug, a bit of inspiration, a lot of motivation! After all we only have ourselves all our life…..so why not appreciate that presence?

I SHALL ALWAYS STAND BY MYSELF!

Hi ASLO, this is such a powerful affirmation! :D I don’t know if you made that image yourself, but I love how you have an image that incorporates your affirmation! :D
(PS: I think we missed you between Days 9 to 11 of the challenge; hope all is well on your end!!)

      • Thank you so much Celes :’D
I made the image myself :) Because I have saved the work of everyday of the challenge that I have completed and they all start with an image :)

I was under the weather over those days but I shall complete my missed days in my journal :)

much love, wishing you all the best

Hi ASLO, you’re welcome to still share your results for the days you missed (if you wish) as comments section will continue to remain open. :D (Hope you are feeling better now!)

  10. My affirmation is: To be happy no matter what (do not be bother with what others say and what I do not have)

I am always comparing myself with others who is richer / prettier / better life than me. How I wish to be like them! But I must stop doing this consciously as it makes me feel sad.

I am exactly where I’m supposed to be

    • Celes
      Celes 11 years ago

I love this one, Beverly! :) It drives home the same message as Day 14’s affirmation “I’m perfect as myself,” except that here your affirmation relates to life at large (as opposed to just ourselves).

  12. Celes
    Celes 11 years ago

I give myself permission to be truly myself.

Hi Samuel, I love this! I believe this is an affirmation that even others can relate and benefit from. I read from your previous task results about you being resistant to avoiding your real thoughts, leading up to your task results in Day 14 where you traced this behavior back to when you were a kid, watching Dragonball Z, and you tuned down the volume because you were afraid it would disturb your parents. Many times we can resist from being ourselves and saying what we really feel because we’re afraid doing so will turn off people or (perhaps?) make us unacceptable, but I always invite everyone to see it a different way — that it’s by being our TRUE selves that we can attract the right, like-minded people into our lives. If we need to alter our behavior just to remain in connection with the people currently in our lives, then it suggests that perhaps those connections are simply incompatible, and we need to break out of our “shell” and be with the people who can accept us as us, for all our opinions, personalities, etc.

(Who knows? Perhaps you’ll meet such people in this Sunday’s PE meetup? Look forward to meeting you then Samuel! :D )

My affirmation for today: I have the power to change and to build the life of my dreams.

What is so special about this affirmation: Oftentimes I get caught in a pattern of thinking which goes along the lines of “This is so annoying! Things will never change. I can’t change my life, because or XYZ reasons. Achieving my dreams is an impossible mission, because I aim too high for my current resources and abilities. etc.” Therefore, reminding myself that I *can* change — both myself and the areas of my life with which I’m not 100% happy — and that I can achieve my ideal vision is the best thing to do in order to empower myself.

I have the power to change and to build the life of my dreams. :)

      Celes 11 years ago

Hi Lina, that sounds fabulous! :) I think your new affirmation goes very well together with Day 7’s affirmation on opportunities, as it’s also about recognizing that while some goals may LOOK impossible now (for example, your career dream which you mentioned in one of the earlier tasks), the onus is up to us to CREATE the path and opportunities to make those goals happen. Sticking to what we see can only bring us so far, sometimes nowhere at all. If we really want to go for our DREAMS that are sky-high, then we need to figure out the unique pathways to MAKE THEM HAPPEN!

    • Samuel Lim 11 years ago

Hey Lina, it might help you if you deliberately include some sources of positivity and empowerment in your daily routine, such as PE (lol!). I find that when I don’t, I keep getting trapped in spirals of negativity as well.

    • Love it Lina! =D What an awesome affirmation!

  14. I use what I know.

This is special because I am an “info-maniac.” I am always hunting out the facts about something, always wanting to know more about things, digging deeply into what I am interested in. Sometimes people perceive the information I am gathering and the things I am learning as “useless facts” and a waste of time, but to me everything I learn is or will be useful. I may need that specific knowledge, or it may be useful as a metaphor or to provide perspective. One way or another, it is something I will use.

    I use what I know.

    • Celes
      Celes 11 years ago

Oh nice, Vicki!! Actually your affirmation is also a great self-enforcement to take action and make things happen, as opposed to being an information junkie or self-help junkie (which by the way, I never thought of you as). “I use what I know” is also a challenge to ourselves where we think, “What can I do about this information I just acquired?” and when dealing with certain new situations, “What have I learned that I can apply here?” It’s a great affirmation to bridge knowledge acquisition and action taking!

    • Samuel Lim 11 years ago

Hey Vicki, I have the same tendencies as you. I find that when I commit in advance to sharing and acting on the info with someone else, action effortlessly follows. Does this work for you?

      • Samuel, when there is someone else who is interested in the same thing and who is interested in taking action, it does make action a lot easier, even effortless. For instance, during this challenge, seeing the posts of other participants and interacting with some of you. Or when I’ve taken a training related to some work or some interest of mine, sharing afterwards with others helps make the information useable right away. I loved group projects when I was a student; the interaction with others facilitated my learning, and I think that my explanation of the information helped others understand it better.

    1. Create your own unique affirmation.

I will stop fettering myself. I give myself permission to be truly myself.

    2. What’s so special about this affirmation?

I realized that every single problem I have is actually self created in the end – by my own incomplete perspective, or by my own self created fears.

Even in the midst of feeling crappy, you have the power to consciously choose to redirect your attention and choose to feel gratitude for the things you have in your life. I tried it for a few days, and it is one of the most powerful things ever. (Though I’m not yet at the level of integrating gratefulness into my daily routine 100%)

And finally, the strange thing is that when I eliminated some of my beliefs in the universe as a objective thing, as an experiment to test the law of attraction, I found that the number of “synchrocities” increased to 3-4 a day! I Even with all the uncertainties and confusion in my beliefs about reality. These can be explained through the perspective of science as self delusion/confirmation bias, but even so, it’s quite a fun way to live. And if the LOA and that kind of beliefs are really true, then all my problems are just a reflection of my internal reality, and it is my duty to get my internal house in order.

    Fascinating!!! This is cool stuff.

    3. Say today’s affirmation.

I will stop fettering myself. I give myself permission to be truly myself.

    1. Create your own unique affirmation.
    – The moment I saw it I thought, “I am getting better.”

    2. What’s so special about this affirmation?
-I don’t know why this affirmation popped in my head, maybe because I didn’t give up from day 4 when I started. Except when I couldn’t write even though I want to, yesterday and another time because of my internet connection.

    3. Say today’s affirmation:

    ” I am getting better.”
