This is Day 9 of the 21-Day Positivity Challenge held in March 2012, where we work on being positive for 21 days. The challenge is now over but you can do the tasks in your own time. Visit the overview page for all the tasks.
21DPC Day 9 Question
Today’s positivity question is:
Who Inspires You? And Why?
(For those with Live a Better Life in 30 Days, check out Day 18: Evaluate Your Relationships for further reading.)
Your Task:
- Reflect and answer today’s question(s). Write as few or as many words as needed to fully express yourself.
- Embody the qualities you admire in the person. Today, make a special effort to embody those qualities which you admire in the person you stated in #1. For example, if Person A inspires you because of his/her genuinity, then embody genuinity 110%, in your every thought and action, today. Continue to do that for the rest of 21DPC.
- Identify at least one positive thing about your day. It may be something small or something big – as long as you deem it as something positive, it counts. If you have more than 1 thing to share, then by all means, go for it!
Share Your Answers!
After you are done, share your answers in the comments area.
If you’re doing this at the start of the day, you can post your answer for today’s question first, then work on your positivity task throughout the day, then return at the end of the day to share your results for your positivity task and your end-of-day positive reflection.
Check out other participants’ answers. Pick 1-2 participants’ answers and make a meaningful reply to them. Engage in the discussions. This is a group course, so let’s support each other in these 21 days!
Look forward to reading your responses!

Day 9 – who inspires me….My dear friend Lisa inspires me because she gets so much accomplished and she is so domestic and has such a thankful spirit. She totally embraces who she is and what she is…I love that! AND….she does what she sets her mind out to to….
One positive thing about my day – I had a great lunch with an old friend and spend some wonderful time with my husband. Life is good!
I have several people that inspire me. Husband, family, Co-workers and friends that help me look at both sides of situations. They make me smile when I really don’t feel like it sometimes. When I have a bad day, they are there for me. When they have a bad day or need encouragement, i hope I’m always there for them. Luckily we all don’t have a break down at the same time… ;-)
It is nice to have such positive people in my life. I’m truly blessed.
Positive thought: After a gloomy day of raining several inches yesterday, the weekend is going to be wonderful weather. Looking forward to it.
People who have overcome great adversity in their lives inspire me. Maybe it is a physical, emotional or psychological trauma but they show such great courage and determination to overcome and they make me feel very humble.
I can try and embody some more courage.
Positives: I have had a good indepth chat with a friend and that’s helped me get some things straight in my mind.
Luke Skywalker inspires me. And he stands up for the good – even if all others would fail. He never gives up. He has got a dark and unknown father – like me. Sometimes I also feel like the only one standing up for justice. And he can forgive and bring his father back to the good side. He helpes others to believe what he believes: everything will be good in the end.
I try this in my own way for many years and I learned a lot out of it. I cant help people who are reluctant. But I can go on being a guide. And I experienced that this helps, when the other is willing. I will go on with this!
It´s friday and the sun is shining. I will go and get my motorcycle from the garage today. :D
Who inspires me and why?
There are two people who inspire me most – they are both already gone and I wish I’d had a chance to meet them. They are Randy Pausch and Marilyn Monroe. Randy Pausch was a Professor at the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. I saw his “Last Lecture”, read the book and followed his blog while he was alive. He had a pancreatic cancer and after 2 years of fighting it he died and was survived by his wife and 3 kids. As for Marilyn, I guess you know quite well who she was. Why do they inspire me? As for Randy, he was such a strong person to fight the terminal illness for years, he was trying to inspire students to achieve their childhood dreams when he was quickly approaching his death. Speaking about Marilyn, she was also a very strong person who had made herself from scratch. She had nothing but a good-looking appearance, she was smart and sexual, and she learned to use her gifts to achieve success. She knew how to be a real woman – it didn’t help her become happy in the end, but I admire her strength and perseverance which she showed in the 36 years of her short but beautiful life.
I’ve been keeping the emotional strength of these two people in my mind all the time. Today I tried to be proactive and positive despite all the negative things going on around. I felt strong :)
Good thing of the day? I went to the gym and had a great workout! Then I walked home and enjoyed Spring in the air! I’m grateful to my life for all the gifts I’ve got, I wish I could keep my parents with me forever, but it’s just the way it should be: we complete our life purpose and move on. Mine is still up in the air! I gotta find it before it’s too late!
Hey Stacy, can you tell me how do you write in bold letters. HTML ?? I guess there s no such options here. I have even tried to copy paste my comment before writing it in MS Word, but it won’t work. :(
Hi Dilip, it’s HTML. Use brackets that wrap around the letter b to make it bold.
More on using HTML to create bold, italics and underline: http://www.hscripts.com/tutorials/html/textp.php
(I have deleted the other comments to reduce clutter on the forums. Thanks Stacey and ASLO for offering to help Dilip! It’s very kind of both of you.)
I am going to test run.
Thank you Celes
Thank you Celes
This is not for todays question but I cannot seem to get back to the question it relates to:
We were asked to name one friend we appreciate and why… I named my friend and per celes suggestion I sent it to her
This was her reply this morning : If I won the lottery today it could not make me happier than myh eart feels at this moment…
People normally only speak of others in this fashion when they are dead: I am one h— of a lucky lady!
Her Response:
Who is the friend that you truly appreciate and why?
Terrye: I appreciate her differences. Even in the spelling of her name she is unique. There are so many people in this world but not near as many that you can have “real” conversations or emotions with. Terrye is one of these rare people. I can suggest the deepest or silliest notion to her and both will be recieved with her intellect as equally valid and important. Her unique friendship makes me want to be a better person. She makes me want to do more with my life as I watch her fill her own days with such fufillment and activity. She does not just talk she walks her talk. Her energy escapes me.
I have to admit that I have reserved inside my spirit a place for her. It is a world that I store Terrye times and ideas. I go there at times when I feel the need for sanctuary. It is a hammock that cradles my tired self. A private space that I can retreat to. Shhh……..
I aspire one day to love life as she does. I am in awe of her many friendships and relationships. She is not someone you meet and forget. She has an aura that forces one to reflect about her. I am grateful to have her aura in my world.
I love the commom interests we share…literature, writing, wine, spirituality, humaness, honesty, arts , and love of family. I also embrace her different interests than mine b/c I learn from them. Our page in life maybe different at the moment but she makes me feel like we are at least in the same chapter!
I envy her marriage. By true definition her husband is her best friend. They have so much repsect and hobbies that they share. It is not all castles and golden urns but it is fairytale to me. She seems to truly have a good balance in her marriage that celebrates the love they share.
I worship that she trusts me to share some of her battles with me. It is an honor. And that she listens to my battles…the old and the new. Pain seems easier to escape in her company….Terrye eases me with her simple smile and silly words like”clink” that tell me more than any theasorus ever could.
Jealous…as bad as it maybe I am jealous of her commitment to working out and keeping so toned. We swim the same sea but she is the great white shark while I am the hammerhead……someday I will catch up and who will be there applauding me…..she will be.
Terry you show up! That is the best thing about you my friend. I appreciate your candidness, honesty, white lies, humor, wisdom, pain and joy. You bring it all to the table with me and I eat it up as a gourmet meal. You are 5 star! Even though u hate to cook! LOL!
And I will send this to Terrye (as she sent one to me) bc she deserves to read it. I hope she feels the power behind my words. Worlds collide and mountains move when we get the chance to share……..sooner than soon Terrye!
She even included a pic of a Great White Shark and a hammerhead for effect!
I AM BLESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know, as for other motivational gurus, we read their books then may or may not take in the message….what i mean is that there is no real push to integrate their message/teachings in life…it doesn’t mean they aren’t good but its just that at times you, yourself fail at the front of integrating fully the message they put forward…yeah i know that reaching your goal isn’t a blink of the eye process, even proffering in a career like medicine, accounting…takes years of training and studying, whereas the part of personal excellence isn’t as clear-cut, text book abiding as the other is…so its right to take it slow……but…. well let me just get back to topic….so this is where Celes comes in  ….her challenges, joint-excellence seeking idea, back-to-back new and innovative ideas/tasks that help achieve the main idea of it all, integrating-constantly reminding yourself-INSPIRING………
Over the challenges, i’ve taken inspiration from many PErs and it amazes me to see how i can grow in such blessed company, especially in the previous PE challenge….so     to all fellow PErs…..y’all inspire me!
Lastly dare i say….ME!….i like to take inspiration from myself too…not that i mean that am a high-headed, bluntly arrogant person…but seeing to where I’ve come to now from where i was, seeing to how i seek self-excellence, seeing the few and far -though there- achievements i achieve…..i get inspired…
My positive for the day….got a new diary -rather journal entry book-, my heads buzzing with new ideas on how i can use it for my growth!!
Happy Friday y’all
ASLO, thank you for your kind words. May I say that I take a lot of inspiration from your kind comments – knowing that you and the other readers are always here, reading, sharing, connecting with one another, makes me feel very, very happy and blessed, and encourages me to continue doing whatever I’m doing. Thank you for being you. You’re such a wonderful person. I feel so blessed to have you here at PE. The community has become richer because of people like you.
This is somewhat off-topic – but do you remember how you came to know about PE?
Always had this dream of making doing something worth priding over in life…a year or so back, i typed Personal Excellence in google, hit the search tab…as for me, its always been like when i venture out to seek yet another climbing step to hold my footing onto in my climb up the mountain of personal excellence, the law of the universe (whether its the fabled karma or the much believed belief in nirvana) always works to put forward something that to me is considered as life changing….whether its coming across a book, a podcast, a video, or at that time this website….
then it was like taking a 6-year-old to a candy shop…all the articles, the browsing through the forum, the free pdf…..then came the challenges…was there any looking back? no!
Being part of this movement, makes me complete….it makes me want to look up and look at where i’m at now, no holding back….this is
Several people inspire me – my parents, my husband, my girls…I see people overcome, I see people grow and be better people than expected. I will be that person:)
Positive for the day – well, it was a really rough day, but , I know I am loved, I know I am a good person and I WILL SURVIVE!
My grandmother who passed away seven years ago truly inspires me. She had been through so many things in her life (experiencing war, famine, an unhappy marriage and illness), yet she always kept her head up, welcoming everything that came her way with strength, optimism, hope. She had what French people call “joie de vivre”, while still remaining down to earth. She could strike a bargain with anyone at the market (especially during the communist period when good quality food was a luxury). The way she looked after my mother, with endless patience and love, or how clean her house would be at all times, she was amazing in so many ways.
I’ve made a new friend. It happened in time, but today, the way she opened herself in front of me, telling me about her parents, current dreams&more, it struck me how close we’ve become. It’s a great feeling! :D
The person who inspires me is my aunt Paula. She is a very laid-back, stylish, cool, kind, positive and funny person who knows how to enjoy herself. She likes to laugh but not at the expense of others and she helps me see all the good things in my life. She is a ‘go with the flow’ kind of person, not the most organised or punctual but her heart is in the right place. She is warm and friendly to everyone and sees the good in people and the world. She seems like she doesn’t get too stressed about the future and lives in the moment, and she is very successful as a manager for a homeless charity. She’s very creative and can pull a very cool outfit together effortlessly without being overly feminine or too done up.
So today I am am going to be extra friendly, laid-back, kind, positive and funny. I may reconsider staying in tonight (I know she would go out!) and I’ll have a look in some charity shops for a cool outfit as well as checking out a local meditation room in an occult book shop.
Will let you know how it goes and report back with my most positive thing for the day!
I bought some cards in the chop for my friends, got some jeans and a dress and was chatty and friendly :) I also went out and met my friend’s friend and her kids. It was a lovely evening with lots of laughter, just what my aunt would have enjoyed!
Most positive thing about my day: Laughing with my friends in the restaurant! :D
In different stages of my life, there have been different people who have inspired me. Just to name a few:-
* Oprah – someone from humble background and now a successful entrepreneur. Her giving, caring nature and kindness.
* Aung San Suu Kyi – a freedom fighter of Myanmar for her stance and belief in democracy for the people of Myanmar. A gentle warrior.
* Lady Gaga – for her creativity, fearlessness and daring attitude. Innovative and always bringing something new to the table. Never a dull moment with her.
* My late mother – for her strength and courage to carry on despite the many setbacks she had to face. She was fearless till the end. Never complaining. Always giving. A warrior.
I like to embody the strength and fearlessness of all these women, to be innovative and kind.
Identify at least one positive thing about your day.
* Yay! It’s Friday, again!
* Went grocery shopping for the week and spent within my budget
* A chance to catch up on my reading tonight. :)
In this journey into life we come across many people, places or situations which have determining influence in our life. It is a sum total of these impressions and the way we respond to them that determine our character and personality, and inspire us in our future orientation.
For the purpose of this exercise I must say that the person who has inspired me the most, is my mother.
She is for me the symbol of courage, struggle , resilience, optimism, a strong faith and a visionnary.
Widowed at a very young and tender age, she was left with the responsibility of 3 children- me the eldest aged 5, and two more ,aged 3 and a month respectively.
The next day she found herself alone in many ways, to bring up her children. Illiterate and unfamiliar with the ways of the world, and the hypocrisy of society.
For about 20 years, she had a routine , get up at 4 in the morning, plan things for the kids, go to work on foot far away frome residence, come back home, with a bundle of grass for the cows and goat, go out again, get firewood, prepare food, feed the children, and go to sleep at about 9.00 in the evening . No respite No Sunday or Public Holiday for her. If she works we have food. The only relief-her mom ,in spite of her own responsibility was there to look after us , in particular my younger brothers. In those days if you are poor, and an orphan on top of that at 5 you are expected to do things, humiliating by to-days standard.
My mother refused to get married again, inspite the insistence of her parents, as she did not want her three sons to be victimised in any way.
God knows how. At a time when only 20% of children could go to school, not so much a matter of means, but more a consequence of a culture of poverty. My mother insisted that we should go to school and have at least primary education. No concession.. I must say that there were many more families who thought they should educate their children, except that they could afford.
In the 20 years to follow, I became a School Teacher, my two brothers joined Government Service too.
And it was decided that I should go to the university for higher studies. What determination what vision
In the next 20 years , we all got married had kids of our own. My mom was not allowed to do any work now. When we would come to tell her that we had salary increase, or a promotion, we could see her eyes brighten up with pride and joy. Even then I would always seek her advice on tricky issues and she always had a solution.
But then her health started to fail and, some 20 years ago she passed away. We were devastated. I console mysel though that in her life time I was able to make it to the top, with all the privileges of Executives It seems now that after she left us there has been nothing concrete or novel we have been able to realise.
After her departure, I adopted 3 of her friends as my mother with the willing consent of my wife. Two of them have already left. Only one is there and all that we could not do for our mother, we try to share with this foster mother.
Even now , when I find myself in serious problem, in my prayer I sollicit my mother to guide and prevail upon us. Even to-day she inspires us , and her grand grand children, tiny -tots, too have known that she is special, and one to draw inspiration from. Her thought has also helped keep the family together.
What a wonderful woman, your late mother. I admire her and she is truly an inspiration. It’s a great act of love that you are doing in adopting your late mother’s friends as your mother. I am touched by that.
Hello Asni,
Thank you for youe kind words.
God bless you.
P.Callychurn,
Again your story touches deep the soul, and I am grateful you have shared this story of this remarkable woman  . All the qualities you mention run deep, and have affected so many lives. Her being a visionary obviously gave many gifts to many people. Her dignity and determination provided a better life for her beloved children, and as her vision grew, so did her strength and faith..
I can say these things, because I can feel the essence of your  Mother  through your words and the feeling of reverence and honoring her extends far beyond the words you chose. When someone gives of herself so deeply and so unswervingly  , and with such a full heart  , the legacy continues beyond the body’s passing. How can it not?!!!
Pardon me if I speak of your Mother as if I knew her, but from your sharing, I feel like, in some very important ways, I have! :D
I LOVE the part about her eyes brightening up with pride and joy with the news of your advancements .I’m so glad she saw.the fruits of her labours in your eyes and in your life….Her focus on the goal of your education paid off far, far, far beyond your promotions! Her wisdom also went far beyond book-learning, to state the obvious…
It sounds like her Spirit and her Love is ever with you and her(your) beloved family.
And your foster mothers, now down to one, very very fortunate to have you all as family, in honor of your own Mother, a tribute to all Mothers and women everywhere  , if I may say so.
And a tribute to the nurturing spirit of Mothers….the spirit that nurtures and guides and envisions and loves with a genuine selflessness.
Would love to know her name, how those who knew her, called her….?
P.C, by the way…
Have you yet seen my post to you yesterday, I’m wondering….???
I admire your perspective on how you view life, and the words you choose to convey your elucidation of “the life and times of…” it rises from the essence of the words you choose and how you put those thoughts together to express your thoughts and feelings. So enjoyable!
A Memoir, perhaps, P.C
?
I would definitely, definitely find that a cherished read.
Hello Bette,
I do thank you again for the time you devoted to go through my postings. You ahve been generous and magnanimous indeed in the appreciation of what I had to say, and it is the strength of your sense of belonging and sharing that makes you feel you, knew my mom and understood her vision. You are right to make this statement. There must be many many like her, except that we do not know them. When I decide to share this very intimate, chapter of my life on an international forum, it was only because ,after reading the postings and stories of a number of people, I realised we are the same everywhere or almost- the same problems, the same aspirations, for us for our children and for humanity; and the response has shown that you do not have to belong to a specific group or a particular country or clas to develop an intimacy, and a sense of appurtenace, ready to share the joys and sorrows of the other. A thought is often enough, to console, encourage or contribute in the healing of a deep seated wound. This is where the initiative of Celes, her dynamism, consistency and vision is working like a miracle, like a panacea.
Bette, I have taken good note of your suggestions and ,God willing, I shall try to give it some concrete shape, to what you strongly believe could be realised. Thank you again.Take care.
I answered a similar question when undertaking a Personal Excellence Challenge in December 2011, and still feel the same:
“Grayson Perry (Artist/Craftsperson/Transvestite) – because he has the courage to be himself, has such a great sense of humour, is immensely talented, wealthy, wise, humane, caring, positive, generous in his explanations of his work and is my hero.
Tracey Emin (Artist) – because of her tremendous self belief, talent, business acumen and ability to self-promote, sexiness and zest for life.
Dalai Llama – because of his ability to be in the present, his loving kindness and compassion, his humility, wisdom, sense of humour, his wanting to free all beings from suffering. I feel the same about Desmond Tutu too.
Bill Oddie – because he has big mental health issues, yet picks himself up, dusts himself down and starts all over again after each one – because of his passion for and knowledge of birds and wildlife and his ability to enthuse and inspire others about nature – because of his sense of the absurd, because he is who he is.
Leonard Cohen – what can I say?!! Such a poet, an artist, so attractive and sensitive, his gentle self deprecating humour and sharp insight, his talent, his style; for being and continuing to be absolutely his own unique self.”
I really admire people who are courageous enough to truly be themselves – this is the common denominator in these people, for me. This is also what I love about my husband and about most of my friends – and it is a quality that has been sadly lacking in myself! However, quite late in life, I am determined to drop some of the masks and not betray myself anymore.
So today, I will be proud of who I am, hold my head up high, be creative (I’m finally learning to crochet) and tread my path lightly, seeking the fun, playfulness and sheer joy in simply being alive. Hurray!
Forgot to include my positive thing about today which is that a little cherry tree in our garden has just come into deep pink blossom and the scent is wonderful.
Hey Lottie, that was for the task on building your success network of 5, wasn’t it? :D I’m glad you still feel the same about the individuals. At the same time, there are times when our inspirational icons change (for example, mine changed in the past 3 years for sure), and that’s perfectly okay too.
I also love your rationale behind choosing those inspirational icons, on being courageous to be who they are. I think coming into our own is probably the single most important thing we can ever do in our lives. In fact, I’ll go as far as to say that our whole life is pretty much about self-discovery and coming into our true selves.
The first person come into mind is Steve Jobs. He is a legend. To me, he worked on his life purpose and he changed the world. Qualities: Dare to dream, dare to fail, keep going, never give up.
Then, it is Colm Wilkinson, I once heard him singing at the Les Miserables concert. The moment he sang, it was just gasped, gasped and gasped. Qualities: Bold, reputable, respectful, his voice is just undefeated.
Mayday, the band from Taiwan. They have dreams and they pursue their dreams with strength and faith. They believe in everything they do. Their music is encouraging.
Jeremy Lin, the rising star. Despite all the obstacles, he keeps pursuing his dream. He keeps practicing and be prepared. When the moment came, he fully utilizes his great talents and abilities. Qualities: Never take things for granted, humble, persistence.
Positive things:
– had great lunch.
– Better communication.
– receive invitation.
– thought of something important.
Hey Celes, I like the topic of today!
I think there are many persons who inspires me to grow! Almost every significant person I have met so far, has inspired me to improve an aspect of my life. There are persons who have inspired me to be a more rational person, there are others who admire for their courage and self-esteem, others for their kindness and wisdom.
One of them is you Celes, I admire your way of walking towards your vision, being so passionate and resourceful.
Thank you :)
That’s really sweet, Erad. Thank you. :D  As I mentioned in my reply to Min, all of you inspire me too, without a doubt.
My husband inspires me because of his determination and perseverance, when he decide he wants to do something he really stick to it and do it, even if he is tired, he follow his plan. My mother inspire me too, because she is very strong, she has experienced tough moments and she is always very determined and focused at the moment to deal with problems.
Positive thing: I gave a gift to a friend for her bday and I think she valued; it is nice to give : )
Everyday it’s someone different… I don’t know if any one single person was truly significant, I’m sure they all were…. So, I don’t know how to address this…
+ I got to speak to my boyfriend today, who’s in Mexico for a couple of weeks = )
my husband inspired me a lot. i learned a lot from him.he has such a practicle approach in life matters. he is open minded. thinks deep.takes positive steps. when he deals different kind of people with kindness ,i inspired.
today positivity my son went out with his school ‘s fellows to the zoo in the morning.
The really positive thing I did yesterday was going out with my friends for lunch, and not buying fast-food ! I picked a couple of fries from their plates, yes, but I didn’t buy anything and stuck to my healthy lunchbox =)
Now to the people who inspire me : actors from a french TV show, Noob. I work for them in all my free time and the only time of the day when I actually am productive is when working hard for the show and the website !
What I love about them is that they are sweet, very funny, but that they do what they are supposed to do and are really determinate. They really live their passion, they are actors (I always wanted to be an actress =) ), and I know that they work a lot for this.
So today, I’m going to try being imagining that I’m doing my homework for Noob and not for school, and maybe I’ll be more productive ! The thing is, I have to remember all the time that I’m getting good grades to be allowed to work for them as much as I can without having to focus more on school. Also, I’ll be extra nice to everyone today and talk as little as possible about myself. =)
I was inspired by Dr. Huyen Mi, a pediatric doctor. She is very smart and diligent. Moreover, she is very kindhearted so that she always does the best thing for her patients.
1 positive thing today is: I won myself to practice at the hospital up to 10 AM while my friend had gone home very early.
Truly Celes you inspire me with the resourcefullness and excellence you are expressing in your work. Thank you very much. Finally i have been in order too. As a result, I feel good.
Thank you Min, that’s very sweet of you. All of you inspire me to be my best self and live my best life.
My Grandmother is the most inspiring person I have ever met. At almost 90 she is younger than me on most days and sharp as a tack. her stories of her life and the things she went thru and survived are incredible. her capacity for love and strength and genorosity astound me. I am truly perplexed somedays on how she can love so deeply after having lost so many and so much. She is a true testament to the human spirit. If I am even and eith of the person she is….i have succeeded at being “human”.
My brother Kevin inspires me to the utmost. He has been a quadriplegic for about 15 years and his spirit is upbeat. I feel if he can deal with life then I should be able to.
I find inspiration from several different people. Some are famous music artist such as Prince or Roni Size. Others are folks like Gahndi or MLK who lived in inspirational ways during their lives. Family, friends, and even strangers I meet with great stories might be inspirational. But the biggest inspiration I can think of today is my younger brother, Kevin. He was born with several mental and physical defects, and we were told that sue to Trisomy 8 he would not live long. Yet Kevin has passed that date by years, graduated high school, and continues to better himself each day. Some times are rough for him, especially if he forgets to take his medication. Plus he lives with my mother and the two of them together don’t have much for money or possessions. But Kevin is just a happy person with his station in life and that makes me feel better each day about mine.
A positive thing about today was that I was on the local newscast today eating a taco. Our station was doing a story on the new Dorritos taco from Taco Bell, and I made a special trip to pick up the food. Then was rewarded with trying out one of the tacos, which was filmed and used in our afternoon show. Wonder if I can get a clip of that online…
derrick : your brother is a courageous person…and is quite inspirational for me also onwards…regards
You know Derrick I too have a small disability in my left arm. I can not work or lift heavy things with it. Sometimes I get sad. But then when I read or come to know about people who are fighting smiling with such things it just fuels me up with the zeal and enthusiasm.
Recently I have joined gym and I am determined to overcome this disability.
Hats off to that Brave soul.

Your brother sounds like an incredible person… I really respect people who make the best out of their situation against all odds…
well My MOTHER inspires me the most in the world..as she proved that one can go beyond his/her fate..and she is caring, love her work, and a kind hearted person and liked by everyobody and a great cook
my mothr is also inspirational that how a prson can change his own life but as well as others,,,
This is a thinker because there aren’t a whole lot of individual people who inspire me, I’m usually more inspired by specific qualities, such as people who do what they love or are passionate about something. I really feed off of that passion, so I guess my task for this day’s question is to do what I love and be passionate, interesting!
Positive things:
I did yoga today for the first time in a while, and it was really fun, so relaxing! Plus it helped loosen the muscles that got stiff at work.
Hey Laurel,
It’s nice to hear that you did yoga for the first time in a while. Don’t know whether you had joined some classes or learned from someone expert in past. But at least try reading a book or two so that you may not injure yourself.
One Free advice: You can always do Pranayama. It will help you to ease your mind + clear your head, so that you can think straight and do what you love and are passionate about. Try doing it before sunrise.
Take care
:)
Thanks for the tip! It’s good to remember not to take it too fast too soon!
My Sons, they are always looking for the positive in all situations!
The great scientist Albert Einstine inspire me because of their great mind and usefulness to science
also my friend sunny inspire me because of his useful nature and as a good and calm person
My parents also inspire me due to their hardworking…I love them very much…
Two People: My sister-in-law Bonnie because she is so STRONG! Bonnie went through a terrible divorce after 15 years of marriage and 5 years of separate-but-working-on-it and in the end they divorced. I talked to her on nights she just cried and cried. We went out to dinner to take her mind off things. It has now been 5 years since then and she is happily in love with an awesome guy who treats her well and she is truly happy!
When I start to really swirl into depressive thoughts, i try to pick myself up by thinking of how STRONG she was to go through something like that, to survive, move on and find happiness! It gives me hope that nothing can get us down if we don’t let it and that there is happiness out there! Its tough to think that sometimes though, but I just keep telling myself that and hope it actually happens.
i forgot my positive for the day: i biked to work! the whole 8 miles, hills and bridges and all! it totally kicked my butt but i felt great for doing it.
Hi Leslie, well done on the biking!
Your sister sounds really inspiring, especially to me as I split up with my partner of five years in 2010 and since then we have been ‘separate but working on it’.
That’s why I started therapy because I want to move away from the uncertainty. He’s a great person but has his issues, as do we all of course, but with him it’s his anger, he doesn’t know how to put a lid on it and wait for a more appropriate time to discuss problems. So although I get along very well with him most of the time, there is a sense of walking around on eggshells, something I also did with my mum who was quite moody and unpredictable. It’s all coming out in the therapy!
Thanks for sharing your sister Bonnie’s story, it has really uplifted me and given me hope today! :)
1. My husband – he inspires me to be a better person through how he treats others. He’s the kind of person who is nice to everyone.
2. Home sick so he’s the only person I’ve been able to be nice to all day.
