Hi everyone!! Ken and I just arrived in Scotland yesterday, Aug 4. We are at Glasgow right now while Ken works here for the next two weeks, before we move on to Edinburgh for personal travel. Hi to all the Scottish readers!! ^^
I’m thinking of doing a meetup while I’m here. Originally I wasn’t thinking of that because I didn’t know if there were any Scottish readers, but your overwhelming responses to my previous post announcing my Scotland visit proved me wrong! Thanks for your help everyone!
If we were to do a meetup, here are the dates Ken and I can make it:
- This Saturday, Aug 10 (evening) at Glasgow
- This Sunday, Aug 11 (evening), at Glasgow
- Next Saturday, Aug 17 (evening) at Edinburgh
- Aug 19 (evening) at Edinburgh
Please post a comment to the post indicating (a) your name and interest to attend, (b) the options you can make it (as many as possible so it’s easier for me to organize a date/option that applies for everyone), (c) names of as well as any friends/family you can bring to the meetup! Please RSVP by Aug 7. We’ll move ahead with the meetup if we have enough participants! (I’ll update on this post by Aug 8 if we are moving through or not.)
If you have any venue to recommend for the meetup, feel free to throw it out!
Oh, thanks for all your engagement photographer recommendations in my previous post! *huge hugs* We have located two awesome engagement photographers — Neil Douglas and Orange Lemur — who have kindly offered to partially sponsoring our shoots and will be shooting us at Glasgow and Edinburgh respectively. We are covering locations ranging from cafes, streets, castle/ruins, garden/park, greens/plains, beach, and perhaps more. I can’t wait to get started. I hope the pictures turn out great!!!

Hi! I’m so sorry- I forget to check this page! I’m really not sure – it would be difficult for me for travel times & money reasons to get to Glasgow & back! Would there definitely be no chance for an Edinburgh meetup at all? Hope you’re having a good time so far!
Hi Alice, no worries! It looks like there aren’t many Glasgow readers on PE, so we likely won’t be doing a Glasgow meetup this weekend.
But I’ll see if we can do an Edinburgh meetup with you; my struggle is that we have to make ourselves available from 17-19 Aug for our engagement photoshoot and I have a course to run (online) on Sunday. Because our shoot is subjected to weather conditions, I can’t confirm whether we’ll be available on 19 Aug or not at this moment too.
I’ll get in touch with you if we can meet while we are in Edinburgh! If we can complete our shoot over the weekend (17-18 Aug), I was wondering if you would be kind enough to show us around Edinburgh for half a day or so on 19 Aug? (We are returning on 20 Aug.) But again, it’s really subjected to our shoot; we might not even get to meet (which I hope won’t be the case)!

Celes I would love to show you round & would be so honoured :) it’s an incredible time here with the festival – perhaps there are shows you might be interested in. That’s absolutely fine, can appreciate travel plans are difficult to predict! I’m free then so please just let me know what happens & hope to see you soon!
Okay, I’ll keep you posted Alice! :) We’ll probably only be able to confirm if we can meet up on Monday, by Saturday (because that’s when we’ll meet our Edinburgh photographers the first time). Chances should be high, but let’s see how the weather goes and what they say!
