This is Day 2 of the 21-Day Positivity Challenge held in March 2012, where we work on being positive for 21 days. The challenge is now over but you can do the tasks in your own time. Visit the overview page for all the challenge tasks.

If you’re new to 21-Day Positivity Challenge, or you have not signed up yet (your name should be in the official participants list), please read the announcement post and sign up first before going any further: 21-Day Positivity Challenge. All details on the challenge, what to expect, and how to sign up can be found at the post.

Update March 21: The challenge is now officially over, but you are more than welcome to do it in your personal space. Check out all posts made during the challenge: 21DPC Overview.
Participants: Complete the Daily Tasks, Not Just the Question(s)
Reading yesterday’s responses, I noticed many of you only read the title of the post (i.e. the questions), then jumped straight to the comments section to post your response. In doing so, you have missed the other half of the task for Day 1, and shortchanged yourself of the 21DPC experience!
For example, Day 1’s task wasn’t just to answer the questions of whether you’re happy and why. Those who read the full Day 1 post would have seen a third part to the question, which was: “Why did you not give yourself a 10/10 score?“. This was intended for you to dig deep and understand the missing “gaps” to helping you achieve your full 10/10 happiness.
Have you ever seen a surgery whereby the doctor just cuts open the patient and stops operating on him/her? No? It’s the same here. Doing only part of the task for 21DPC is akin to doing a mental operation on yourself and stopping halfway, while all the pus and blood are gushing into the air (gross image!). To get the most out of your participation here, it’s essential that you (a) (deeply) reflect on and answer all the questions (b) complete the full task for the day.
Please read the full post before posting your responses. As of today, expect 3 segments for each 21DPC daily task:
- One positivity question, or a series of positivity questions (related to each other). Please address all of them in your response, and not just the first question!
- One positivity task. Starting from today, there will be a small positivity task for each day – which is linked to the positivity question. It will be a very simple task which can be completed within the day itself.
- One positive thing you got out of the day. To identify at least 1 positive thing that you got out of the day, for every day of 21DPC. If you can identify more than 1, that’s even better!
Please share your results for all 3 segments in your daily response. As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, feel free to post your comments in parts you get to the task in different times of the day. You can answer the positivity questions in the beginning of the day, then return later in the day to post your results for the positivity task, then return at the end of the day to share the one positive thing you got out of the day.
Just be sure to click “reply” to your comment, not via posting a new reply, so others can follow your progress easily.
21DPC Day 2 Question
Today’s positivity question is:
Who is One Friend You Appreciate Having? And Why?
Share as much as you want in your answers, from a few words to a few pages long. Be honest as you can. Answer both questions, and not just the first question.
Your Task for Today:
- Reflect and answer today’s question(s). Write as few or as many words as needed to fully express your thoughts. There is no word limit.
- Let that friend in on your appreciation for him/her.
- The stuff you just wrote about your friend – Does he/she even know that? No, really. Have YOU ever directly TOLD him/her that you appreciate him/her, and why?
- Your 2nd task is to let him/her know that – be it in person, via email, text message, Facebook, phone, or whatever medium you prefer – today. Even if you’ve mentioned this to him/her before, do it again today (there’s no limit to how many times you can share appreciation). Share the full thing, not just: “Hey, I appreciate you ’cause you’re cool”. Dude, that’s weak. Go deep in expressing your appreciation. Sure it may be mushy, but whatever. You’ll be surprised at how much it may mean to him/her.
- After you are done, let us in on your friend’s response, if you wish.
- While we’re on the topic of having friends we appreciate, you may want to check out this related article on how to be a better friend to others: How to Have More Best Friends: My Heartfelt Guide
- Identify at least one positive thing about your day. It may be something small or something big – as long as you deem it as something positive, it counts. If you have more than 1 thing to share, then by all means, go for it!
Share Your Answers!
After you are done, share your answers in the comments area!
If you’re doing this at the start of the day, you can post your answer for today’s question first, then work on your positivity task throughout the day, then return at the end of the day to share your results for your positivity task and your end-of-day positive reflection.
Check out other participants’ answers. Pick 1-2 participants’ answers and make a meaningful reply to them. Engage in the discussions. This is a group course, so let’s support each other in these 21 days!
Look forward to reading your responses!

i am truly appreciative of my two best friends- who are like sisters (except we don’t have the drama). When it comes to daily things they couldn’t be more different, but we all share the same basic theory on life and are there for each other no matter what the occasion- happy or sad, am or pm, needing to gripe or share the awesome things, laughing or crying. And yes they each know how important they are in my life and we treasure each other often. We teach each other and learn from each other and have the most awesome times. i know I am blessed to have them as sisters.
I gave a hug to a person who needed it today.
A friend that I really appreciate in my life is my cousin, who is like a sister to me, because both of use are only children for our parents. We are great friends when we are together which does not happen often, because now we live in different countries. She is just 4 moths older than me and we can talk about everything that we are going through together. Yes, I guess I’ve never told her that I appreciate her for being my friend and that is pretty pathetic to me now :shy: well, I will totally buy her a present and a card where I will write a gratitude letter for the times we had together – because they we’re pretty awesome. I will not tell her that by email because to me it seems the least personal way, so I will do it in person.
Positive today: I was able to take a nap – I watched Rosmaries baby and my eyes were closing, so I got till the half, I turned it off and I woke up 3 hours later. Doesn’t happen so often to me, but I like wasting time in sleeping.
Aiks… I just manage to read today’s task now, unable to tell my best friend about it today. However, I have told her how much I appreciate her and treasure our friendship before. I believe, up till now, both of us are still having the same feeling.
I knew her since secondary school, we help each other since then. She is a mixed of Indian and Chinese and she is the only one friend that speak English to me. She started the conversation with me and since then, we became new friends, good friends, then best friends.
She taught me history subject by telling me all sort of history story in order to help me to remember it. I taught her Mathematics. I still can remember, when we got high education certification exam result, she told me that she got an A in Mathematics! I could see how happy she was, and I felt happy in myself too. For me, I failed History subject in all school exams, but I got a grade 4 (the lowest is grade 9, failed) in the high education certification exam!! XD I felt so happy for my result too!!
When I heard from her that she had a disease in her brain, I cried quietly. After her operation, I rushed to her house, just wanted to see her again.
When I received her letter, I smiled. I always called it as a “love letter”. She said that she fell in love with our friendship, she treasured the friendship so much. I replied, “yes, I feel exactly the same as you”. Simple words, but I have included all the thoughts from my heart in the reply.
After secondary school, we went to the same college, same course, same university, and even worked in the same company! Now, although I have left the company, but we still keep in touch with each other always. I can’t state how much she has helped me in my life, and I believe she can’t do so as well. Both of us just appreciate our friendship so much.
She just delivered a baby girl 3 weeks ago and I visited her. She looked so happy with the baby girl~ I hope that she’s always the happiest mom, the happiest wife and the happiest friend of mine! :)
About today’s positive thing:
Today, I fetched my Japanese zither classmate to the zither class. While we were on the way to the class, I learned a few new Japanese words again! XD
During the zither class, I managed to play the zither louder as we were trying to ensemble. Playing music instrument with a group of people is always more fun than practicing alone. :)
Lastly, I knew that I will become the zither teacher next week as the first try. I ask my teacher, what I should teach in the class for the very first class. My teacher let me reflect back how he taught us in our first class… It made me recall back my happy moments while I first starting to learn zither. It was fun and happy!! I hope that I could bring the happiness and fun to my zither students too~ ^^
Just in case someone doesn’t know what a zither is… It is a music instrument of Chinese Orchestra.

Hey Jaleen! Actually Day 2 is for March 2nd. (And since you live in Malaysia (if I recall correctly?) it’s only 1-2 am your time, on Day 2, now.) So you actually have 1 day ahead for Day 2’s task. :D
Hi Celes, I see… Haha~
I have told my best friend about my appreciation (although we both always say this to each other :P) about her existence in my life. She replied me, “I love you too” ^^
Aw that’s so sweet. :D While we’re on the topic of appreciation, I appreciate having you here at PE / 21DPC, Jaleen!
One friend I appreciate having in my life? It’s a difficult question. I do not have many friends , but I do have a few very close friends , each different and each bringing me something to make me happy.
I think the person that I appreciate most as a friend is my sister in law (husband’s sister) – she’s not married and we live in the same house. She’s a few years older than me, but we share many interests (e.g. crystals, reiki, dogs) . It’s great having someone in the same house with whom I can discuss anything.
I’ll tell her how much I appreciate her later tonight.
One posititive thing about my day would be coming home early today ( at 2pm ) , and spending time with my kids.
That’s lovely that all of you live in the same house, Ish. :D The concept of living with extended family is slowly getting lost in our society today. Does anyone else in the extended family live with you, your husband and your children, besides your husband’s sister?
Hi Celes, extended families are indeed getting rare. In addition to my husband and children and the sister in law mentioned, I also have another sister in law with her two kids and my mother in law. We’ve built a sort of three-level appartments which is connected to my inlaws old house – one level for each of my husband’s siblings. So we have our privacy while being together. :D
It’s been very helpful when my children were young, as I do not have to worry about them being on their own while I am at work. My father in law died in Dec 2011, and in this period of grief, it was a great help being all together.
Who is one friend I appreciate having and why?
I found this to be a hard question to answer.. i have several very good friends I appreciate and its hard to pick one… My family (mother, father, 2 sisters) would be who came to mind first.. but since i have to choose one, i will step outside the family..I will say my friend Belinda.. I admire her and appreciate her zest for life.. She has survived oral cancer, is very sweet yet fiesty, supportive, fun, funny, honest, sensitive, compassionate, and trustworthy! We havent been friends but a year or longer, but i feel we have known each other a lifetime..
I have sent her an email letting her know how i appreciate her and will get back with you on her response when i hear from her..
Positive things about my day so far:
its a new day!
i find beauty in nature and the birds are migrating this way now and i am loving watching them
I had a conversation with my mother and one of my sisters this morning.. a good way to start
I feel blessed to be a part of this challenge
I had a good nights rest!
The sun is shining and its good for my soul!
 Who is one friend I appreciate having? And why? My colleague from work. We are both similar in many ways – like tastes in movies, books and even life experiences. However we are also at the same time very different, especially in our faith and outlook in life. And I truly appreciate those times we don’t see eye to eye and those times we just don’t agree. I embrace the differences in us and glad that God really makes each and everyone of us different & unique.
:p No… I haven’t got around to tell her how much I appreciate her friendship. I’m not good with words or expressing myself. I figure I may get around to telling her… hopefully soon.
 The one positive thing about my day would have to be to see the goodness and kindness of a another colleague I don’t know so well. He makes my day today.
The friend I appreciate having the most would be Tom. A year and a half ago, I was alone, and my life was spiraling downward. I had met Tom at my university, but we were merely acquaintances. After hitting bottom, I decided to reach out to someone, and while others had ignored me, he did not.
I grew to trust him, and he became like an older brother to me. He was my source of support while I worked to make my life situation better.
He encouraged me each step of the way, taught me as much as he could, introduced me to many things, as I had lived a very sheltered life. We tried new foods, explored places we hadn’t been, watched shows and movies I wouldn’t have imagined would have such an impact on me, and talked about things such as religion, philosophy, and politics, which I certainly had no knowledge about. I remember that he took me to the Detroit Institute of Art once and let me wander around for hours. Seeing such beautiful things, I was so very happy. Because of his kindness, I have been able to grow as a person.
I give credit where it is due, and so I have told him these things, and thanked him, though I also told him that mere words could not really express my gratitude. His reaction was that he said it has been an honor to be my friend, and to help me out, that he is glad he chose to talk to me, and that for all the positive influence he has had on me, I have also had on him.
One positive thing about my day is that I received a good amount of sleep, and so have been feeling well rested. :)
One special friend that i really appreciate is my ex-boss … a wonderful woman and mother who’s birthday is today. i send her this mesage: my beloved and dear friend, the one who taught me only good things and who was able to feminize me (because i was like a boy, no skirts, no dresses), i thank you for being an EXTRAordinary coach! i am tremendously glad that i have met you! happy b-day! i am sure that you will receive everything that you deserve! big big hug!
and she replied: i love you! everytime you leave me speechless!
My best friend is also my boyfriend . :D
Being someone who came to this country and moved few times, it was hard to develop friendships. People can be cruel and not understanding at all. I’ve been hurt many times, because I was fool to believe anyone can befriend you if you put effort into it.I live in a small town in Serbia, and it is hard to move, leave, find people with same interests. Now when I’m older, I find more people in university, but I can’t develop anything serious for the time being. :/
That’s why I chose my boyfriend. He is real, honest, caring,…even tho it can hurt me, he tells me the truth. It might sound like I’m on a torture device every day, but it’s not like that. We’ve both put a lot of effort to see each, to know one another, to keep what we have. Having an honest person that loves you by your side is a great thing in life.
Also, I told him few times before how awesome he is. :3
I remember a saying that goes along the lines like the only the people who are really close to you or know you can be cruelly honest. :)
Day 2
One friend that I appreciate having in my life is my friend Christine. We used to work together and have remained friends since. I appreciate Chris for being in my life because she was always there to support me at work and she always shows that she cares about my and others well being and is willing to support people if they need it.
Unfortunately, I haven’t let Chris know this before and I have no particular reason or excuse for not doing so.
Action step – I have let my Chris know that I appreciate her friendship via Facebook
One positive i got out of today is that while I was at my job placement provider, I asked her if she knew anything about the Government providing information on starting your own business , she said “yes” and gave me the details about an information session which I will be attending tomorrow. I would love to start my own business as I have been made redundant or been retrenched from pretty much every job I have held throughout my career.
That’s great you let her know! (: I’m sure Christine will be thrilled when she visits her facebook!
I wish you the best of luck with your business! Doing what you love… no alternative so sweet!
Thanks so much Irvin for the replay to my post and your encouragement of my goal to start my own business. It is good to know that there are people out there who are behind me.
I appreciate having my boyfriend Christian.
He is a wonderful human being. He has a very intelligent charm and a fine sense of humor. He is very empathic and brings me out of my comfort zone many times. With this, I can grow and become a more reflected and much happier person. It´s the same the other way round. Beside this, we can argue very calm and have access to the meta-level. It is a cooperative love based on partnership and equal treatments. His love for me is very deep and so is mine for him. I cant be many days without him. Life is without colour for me, when he is not around.
I told him many times. I like to tell him today :)
Today I got a promise for renting my own flat. A wonderful home with a balcony to the west (with sunshine afer I come home from work), a bath tub (no problem can´t be solved thoughout a hot bath), a garage (for the motorbikes) and a separate study room. It´s not far away from my parents (only 1 kilometer) and it is quite inexpensive. I am very excited and can´t wait getting rid of my old stuff (via ebay and charity donations) and buying furniture :)
That’s great about the flat! I’m moving house in a few months too, and I really hope I can get a place where I could have my own study room :)
I think being able to argue calmly and healthily is actually a really, really good thing for a relationship. I know when my boyfriend and I argue, we talk about it and end up arriving at a far deeper level of love and understanding than before. I hope you and Christian have a long and happy relationship :)
Linda is my best friend. I have known her for more than 20 years and I have needed her more than ever over the last couple of years. She is always there for me – her shoulders are very broad and her ears are always pinned back. She never judges me; she understands and always offers me some hope. Linda and I think the same about lots of things and we have shared much with each other over the years. I don’t think that I could have managed over the last couple of years without her support and level head. I see her as the sister I have never had and I know that she will always be my friend. I have told her how much I appreciate her, but am happy to do so again. Linda , thank you and you know that if ever I can repay you by doing the same for you, I will.
What’s positive about today?
I am grateful that I have a job, I have a roof over my head and I will not go hungry.
Such lovely lines about your friend Sue, friends are real gifts.
Love your positive words for today, as long as we have these things in our life we know happiness is at the corner.
Lovely day!
Thank you Marie.
I emailed Linda what I had written about her and she cried. She truly appreciated my words, so that is another positive about today. I have shown my appreciation and it touched her heart. I made another person feel good about themselves.
How nice Sue. She definitely has been touched by your words. The issue is very positive.
Take care
My best friend is Jackie Garcia. She is like a daughter to me as well as a friend. We have assisted each other over the years to meet our goals, mentoring, coaching, and support. She is a true friend through thick and thin! I could not ask for a better friend.
One positive thing about my day is I am alive and well and in my right mental faculties!
Myriah is a friend I truly appreciate. She has overcome many obstacles in her life and she is still warm, caring, friendly, hopeful, loving, and seeking the positive.
It is really nice and inspiring to have a friend that still have a positive stand in life even after they’ve been through. Goodluck on the positivity challenge :)
So this is the post for 2nd of March?O.o I got a bit confused when I saw yesterday the first post of the challenge even though it was 29th of February and not 1st of March but I thought “Hey, maybe Celes doesn’t want to begin straight from 1st of the month” xD Well, that leaves me a bit in…trouble let’s say, because I’ll leave the reply talking from a 1st of March point of view. Hope it’s not a problem (if it is, please let me know, Celes, so that I’ll post correctly).
One friend I appreciate is Maria, my childhood friend. We’ve been there for each other ever since we’ve met (12 years ago! And still counting :D ). She always has a warm hug for me when I need it the most or a joke to lighten up each day. I try my best to keep in touch with her, even though now we’re both busy with our studies. I remember when we were little (about 9 years old) and we were making plans to live together when we would grow up, saying that we would have a “concrete house” (we imagined it something like a garage  ) with a fridge, two beds, a TV and several bookcases (we’re both bookworms). Ah, old times :D Still makes me feel fuzzy and happy every time this pops up in my mind – we would have been satisfied with so little as long as we had lived together. :)
As for a positive thing I’ve done today, I bought my mother flowers (on 1st of March we have the tradition of offering flowers and a red&white thread – which symbolizes winter and spring- to those close to us). Also, at school we offered candies and the aforementioned red&white threads among classmates. I love spring ^^
Hey Lina, the tasks are up early because the participants are all from different time zones, so for the benefit of everyone I make it a point to post them on the evening before the actual day (this is the case for all previous challenges too). The problem though, is that it causes confusion among those who are in slower time zones.
Just do the tasks from whichever day’s viewpoint you want. ;) Technically Day 1’s task should be for March 1st, Day 2’s should be for March 2nd, and so on, but in the end it’s all about 21 days of positivity together and doing the 21 positivity tasks. :)
My most important friend is my boyfriend. We became friends because we are dating. So I can’t really tell if it would be the same incase that context was taken away. He’s important as a friend bcoz he’s that 1 person I cn talk to incase of anything and almost everything. He’s very reliable, loving and sweet. He helps me when I need advice and when I’m down. Even though we tend to argue over stuff many times, we love being together. And I cn honestly be me around him. Something good abt my day was being able to study a fair amount of time for my tests.
I am appreciative of 3 friends….three wonderful ladies that I have know for 20+ years that love me no matter what, warts & all. We have been through the highs & lows of life together and would do anything for each other! Love my GALS!
Who is One Friend You Appreciate Having? And Why? Melody, is my friend that I appreciate. She is not only a great friend but my mentor. She has helped me on a daily basis find myself and my enlightenment! For that I am truly blessed and can never begin to repay here the kindness and guidance she has shown me. I am a different person today because of her and everyday I am growing, learning and becoming a better person within myself. She is a true Angel among Angels!
Let that friend in on your appreciation for him/her – I emailed her a copy of this statement so that she knows how important she truly is to me.
Identify at least one positive thing about your day. – The Sun is out and it’s bright and sunny today! I wrote in my gratitude notebook all the wonderful things I am grateful for!
Let that friend in on your appreciation for him/her – I emailed her a copy of this statement so that she knows how important she truly is to me.
Aww, that is such a lovely gesture Wendy. I’m sure your friend will really appreciate that (if he/she doesn’t already know that).
I appreciate Hitesh, one of my best friend.
Because whenever i feel depressed, want to share my goals, sorrows etc.i meet him and he understands me properly and also share his views. He always show some direction, solution to a problem by proper analysis of it.
Positive thing today…i came to my workplace in time today.
As yesterday enjoyed few minutes play with my son in the morning which showed a pleasant smile on his face.
Children smiles are awesome and inspiring!
Having a friend you can talk to makes a real difference. Take care
ya.. kids’ smiles make us enthusiastic!
Friend you I appreciate having and why?
I have few friends who I am very close to each one of them for each special character which they possess. To one friend I can talk and share whatever under the sky and I can get solutions or ideas for my problems. To another friend I helped her to come out of her broken relationship which in turn made her very close to me. To another friend I learned more about the Yoga and spirituality and that’s why I am able to practice yoga now… :)
I feel really really happy when I share the time with them. It may be a short email about their updates or a phone call whatever… :)
As I am away from my dearest friends, whenever I email or make a call, I make a point to tell them that how important are they to me and express that I also miss them for sure :(
Yes because of this question, I went to the times which I spent with my friends :D :) and now I miss them a lot.
One Positive thing about this question rather the day!!! :p
Due to this question I feel that I should get in touch with my friends more often than now as it helps me to be happy and relieve out of my stress and I shouldn’t wait or to be more frank expect them to call/ email rather I can be the first who can mail or call them.
[ Because at times I have had a thought that why am I calling or mailing them all the time when they are not even making an attempt to call me or mail me. Due to today’s question, which helped me to think about the positivity in my friends, from now on I am going to change my above views and whether they call or email, I will be in touch with my close friends whenever possible] :D :D :)
Thank you Celes for another thought provoking question
I appreciate you for calling your friends irrespective of their call.
Amongst the 7 habits..by covey, this reminds me habit no 1..be proactive which says..always take initiative actions!
I have several friends who have been closer to me at specific period of times, I have lost touch with them during the course of time and have often ended up wondering “how did that happen all of a sudden?”
But now I understand if they were true friendship, it would have stood up the time test. So as of now, I have really a true and best friend Love you Bch. :) We are friends now for more than 4 years. We have learned about each others life, habits and even quirky mood swings.
She has been the source of fun. Lately we have been missing the fun hang outs, due to our work schedules :) :)
Hi everyone…
I’ll be posting my task tomorrow…
But I would really like to share a video here, which is related to the day’s task ( telling your friend your appreciation ). Though it is not about friends, it is really nice to see how telling ur appreciation, even to strangers(who affected u in any positive way) can have an impact…
[hope i m not interfering with ur schedule Celes]
here it is :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVCBrkrFrBE
Oh wow, that was a fantastic video :)
Thank you for sharing, that made my day.
Perfect for today’s question! Thank you for sharing this! :D
Yes, I agree…nice one…you just never know what little thing you say/do can make all the difference in the world for someone! Appreciation is such a gift! I like to show appreciation and I like to receive it. Who wouldn’t! ;)
Thanks for posting!
:D
I’m really blessed with with fantastic friends who care about me alot and play an active part in bringing out the best in me. One of the people closest to my heart is Meenu. We hav been friends for over 9 years. We studied together in school. Shes the most amazing person in my world. She very thoughtful, genuine, super hardworking, honest, shes a source of joy to everyone. she can light up a place by just entering. :) We share a very close bond, though she lives thousands of miles away she can just read my mind :) :) I just love listening to her talk many things from work to the next goal shes working on. We dont have to communicate everyday but we understand each other so well. :) shes like a part of me. Im very lucky to have just a wonderful person in my life :) :) :) I admire the way she has a great rapport with everyone. shes has an unending supply of the perfume of love she showers generously on others :)
One friend I appreciate the most…. My son yes and of course my daughter, but since he is the older of the two, thus more mature and understanding….
I thank god for such a treasure that I found in him, my son calls me his guardian angel, i miss to tell him, how without his love, understanding, humor, appreciation, advice…i wouldn’t be the same person that he sees in me…he understands me without me having to say it, is so caring, corrects me when am wrong, accepts it when he’s wrong….
Well as for the positive thing i learnt today was: being self-dependent, okey, this may also delve into learning more than positivity, but still, its something i learn’t today and know-hope-want that it’d bring positivity to my life…..
awrite then, to all our friends whose essence lightens and gives meaning to our presence, this goes out to you
Also cant help but remember the song….“Count on me like 1,2,3: i’ll be there: and i know that when i need it: i can count on you like 4,3,2 : and you’ll be there: coz that’s what friends are supposed to do oh yeah…..
Love, happiness and Positivity to all
Verry moving to hear about such a living jewel as your son! (“guardian angel sound right on! ) Both of your children sound like shining stars   …what a fortune you have found…and I bet having YOU for a Momma surely has something special to do with how he (they) are!! ;) I love the qualities you describe that he has! :D
Congrats on your learning for the day…about being self-reliant…is that another way to describe it. Emerson has an essay on “Self Reliance.” “To believe your own thought, to believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men-that is genius.”
Definitely my friend Naomi. A truly amazing spirit. Able to give sound advice while calming me down. A true earth angel.

Hey Pragati, be sure to let those friends know about what you appreciate them as part of Day 2′s task. ;)
And what’s 1 positive thing that happened to you on Day 2?
Yeah, i make it sure quite often with so many surprises ..!! they make my wrld complete, hw cn i forget doing so..?
its still March 1 here in India…
:)
Day 2 , yet to come..but loving your 21 day challenge, its helps to introspect..!1 :)
That’s fantastic Pragati. :D Simply return to add on to your response tomorrow (Day 2) when you have completed the remaining 2 tasks.
Thank you for being a part of 21DPC! I really appreciate your active participation and sharing.
By the way, can I seek your help to type in proper English instead of chatspeak / shortforms? For example, “how” instead of “hw”, “can” instead of “cn”, and so on. Reason being there are over 400 participants and many of them will be reading the responses, and it makes it hard for others to read when such abbreviations are being used.
Oh.. sorry.. I l keep it in mind for the future..An apology..:))
No, no need for apologies, Pragati! :D Thanks so much for your cooperation. :D
Who is One Friend You Appreciate Having? And Why?
This is my best friend Ann. We’ve been friends for almost years now, and I can say that we’re more than best friends – we’re sisters. It’s really strange to feel that you love someone the way they are and the only thing you care about is their happiness, not their style, or beliefs, or even boyfriend (unless it prevents them from being happy). Nowadays we don’t meet very often (only about once in a fortnight), but whenever we do we are so excited to spend time together! We always have something to talk about, we enjoy the company of each other even though we’re doing absolutely nothing together. She the most adorable girl in the world, she’s kind, nice, patient, funny, open, down-to-earth, trustworthy, helpful, caring, understanding… gosh, there aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful she is. I love her with all my heart and I am grateful for her being a part of my life. Nothing has broken us apart and I’m praying that nothing ever will.
Let that friend in on your appreciation for him/her. – She know it all, but I’ll send her my message anyway :)
Identify at least one positive thing about your day.
I went outside for the first time this week – I was locked in because of my health issues. And I felt Spring coming!!! Such an incredible feeling! I love it when it’s warm and sunny!
I also walked my dog – first time in ages, and we had a great time together! Later today my mom visited with me and we had a nice friendly chit chat :) I love her!
* Ann and I have been friends for almost 20 years! Don’t know I missed the number…
20 years thats awesome stacey. This will be the last year of my school (2012-2013) and i will be joining college then.I cant even think of that because me and my friends will be in different colleges. But i am sure nothing can separate us. :D
The One Friend I appreciate having is MY MUM.
She is the most motivational person I know on earth.
She always drive me to be the best I can be.
And I’m really grateful for that…
By the way, this invites to call her right away and give thanks for her PRECIOUS friendship ;) .
Tks Celes and let’s awaiting Day 3.
Hi Alban! What’s 1 positive thing that happened to you on Day 2? (technically it isn’t Day 2 / March 2 on anyone’s end right now, so I reckon you’re just posting your response early or doing the challenge 1 day in advance of everyone else?)
I’m doing it in advance as well :) I started this positive journey and just can’t stop! So I hope it’s not a bad thing…
Nope it’s not a bad thing at all! :D You aren’t the only one who’s doing it in advance, because I posted Day 1’s task early yesterday (so those in faster time zones can prepare for it) but we already had like over 100 comments before March 1st even started.  Maybe I should post the tasks right on the day itself next time.
Well, I don’t think it’s bad, because new participants will see how popular the challenge is and will get it more seriously (as, for example, I do) :D For me it’s much easier to do the task beforehand, so that on the next day I can keep on thinking about the question (like, about my best friend) and paying attention to the good things going on around. Which proves that I spend the right day (March 2nd) doing the right task, don’t you think? ;) Am I being convincing?
I think it’ll be great if all participants are doing that consciously as you are, Stacey. :D I’ll continue to have the tasks up the evening before so everyone gets a fair amount of time to do them, especially since the daily posts will now come with a positivity task too (albeit just a simple step that can be done within the day itself).
Hahahaha it was nice to know because I was so confused and afraid of losing a day even thought it is still March 1-st here. But that’s OK I got it now. Ou and here’s a very big THANK YOU Celes for this challenge, it is something we all need.
Aw, that’s lovely. Mum’s like that rock :) I’m really grateful for my mum too, she was one person I considered posting about… Especially in the last few years since she started losing quite a bit of weight and got really sporty she’s really changed her life around and become a very inspiring person to me.
Pleased to read that we both have the same most appreciating friend namely our mum.
Writing a post about mum sounds like a great idea I didn’t think about yet…tks Ffion.
I cant choose one because I feel lucky to have four of my friends. They are my school friends and i am still in school. They make me feel i can do anything, they give my support when i am discouraged. They have been in all my best moments of my life(best moments to this point) and i am sure they will continue to be.Be whatever like simple chatting or sharing my big goals i feel myself when i am with them. :D
positive thing about my day:-
yesterday:-
oops didn’t share yesterdays positive thing, thought i would share it now.I have been participating in most of the personal excellence’s challenges passively. But this is the one i am participating officially.I feel great about that.
today:-
Completed my zoology lesson which i have been postponing for a week. :)
Hey premalatha, thanks for sharing! :D Be sure to let those friends know about what you appreciate about them as part of Day 2’s task too. Let us know how it goes.
yeah did all the tasks.felt great yesterday!!!
Hey everyone, again a reminder that the 21-Day Positivity Challenge tasks include (a) Answering the positivity question (b) Doing the positivity task linked to the question (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, please read today’s post) (c) Identifying one positive thing you observed/did/learned today.
Many participants are only doing question segment still and missing out on the full positivity challenge experience.
