PE reader Lenin requested for a manifesto on self-confidence, and I thought – “Hey, why not? That’s a great idea!”
So here we have it – The Self-Confidence Manifesto. :D Great to remind us that at the end of the day, confidence really just begins on the inside:
Source article: How To Be The Most Confident Person In The World
Feel free to print it, put it on your fridge, at your work desk, or wherever you like. Check out my other manifestos in the manifestos section.
Hello Celes,
OMG..!!
Thanks a lot for a great article on “Self-confidence”.
Whenever i jump into read your article, i never quit reading. All the articles
you wrote have greater attraction and deeper thought behind the sentence
construction. I become starved of your articles to read and adopt the
suggestions you had mentioned in the article as much as possible.
I should share my feelings to you today otherwise i feel un-enrgised n
de-motivated.
i am practising yoga past one year from last year-2013, but I found no results
on belly reduction as I expected. i did went to gym for three months in between
yoga class to see the effects but results not achieved yet. I am now again
stick to yoga.
I joined Toastmaster club to improve my presentation and leadership skills. i
did presented my first “ice-breaking speech” but i felt it was not great.
I always feel my English foundation was not good. i did not achived my goal proficient
english speaker.
I started english improving plan in 2007 in college days, such as reading
english novels, watching english news channels newspaper and movies. Yes, i can
see my improvements by benchmarking myself but I’m not up to the mark. i may
lagging with self-confidence capsule always ….!!!!!
I need your suggestion
on these two topics: Fluent speaker in english (veral and non verbal) and
reduce my belly fat. ( I am just 65kg
with 5.5 ft height)
Regards
Sandeep
I like the background of this manifesto! @Leny @Matt It’s true that when you print it’s better. Quite hard to view online though (on my com).
The article chosen also works great. ;) Thanks!
Hi Amanda, thanks! :D I chose the texture from Shutterstock, and tweaked it until I achieved the current look.
I’m surprised it’s still hard to view it (via comp), because it looks very readable on mine. I’m guessing it’s definitely monitor settings and differences – my monitor is set at highest brightness and contrast. Regardless, I’ve added a white drop shadow to the text, so hopefully that helps somewhat.
Thanks Celes, I really love it. For Matt, if we print it, it is better. Leny
Hi Leny, thanks – glad you love it! :)
Your manifestos are getting better.
My question is : How to develop a sense of self-belief which is paramount for building self-confidence?
Hey Alban, have you read the source article? If not, I really recommend you do so (refer to the links found in each manifesto), as it is the single guide on confidence on PE and how to build it to the max, and also covers the answer to your question. As already mentioned, I’m not creating or producing any new content with the manifestos, only republishing existing content in a different format.
Yes, I already read the entire article.
You said “The only prerequisite for self confidence is a sense of self belief.” which I totally agree with. But how do we develop this sense? By changing our own perception, by seeing us as giants and powerful people…just by realising our natural powers? Isn’t it?
It’s elaborated in the paragraphs following that statement:
In short, the lack of self-belief is due to the perception we need something to have self-belief/confidence. Most of the times, the reason why we have that perception is because of (childhood) conditioning. Once we detach ourselves from that perception, being self-confident will be a natural state we’ll be at.
As to *exactly* “how” to change/break/detach from that perception, it requires one to dig into the perceptions, understand how they were formed to begin with, so as to dissolve them proper. I recommend to read Create Real Change In Life: Address Root Cause vs. Effects, Days 26-27 of 30BBM (on replacing limiting thoughts) and Day 28 of 30DLBL (on letting go) for more on how to dissolve and break free from limiting beliefs that do not serve us.
Tks for your free coaching, Celes. I will read your mentionned articles so as to polish my comprehension. Rgds.
I find this one hard to read. Might be better if the background was lighter.
Reads fine on my screen. Might be the brightness setting differences on our monitors? Regardless I just made the background several shades lighter and uploaded the new version.
Only thing I can notice is the sharpness of the text which makes it look really contrasty. Looking closely, I can see a white highlight under the text. It seems to separate the text from the background. Was that intentional Celes?
Hi Glenn, yes that’s right – I added a white drop shadow to make it easier to read the text (refer to my reply to Amanda below). I didn’t want to make the background any brighter as it’ll lose that rustic look/feel that I’m going for with this particular manifesto.
