21DPC Day 17 Question

On Day 6, you shared what makes you smile. Today, I’d like you to think about this:

What Makes You Laugh?

Girl laughing

Is it watching your favorite sitcom / comedy / cartoon / variety show? Hanging out with your favorite friends? Playing board games with your friends? Attending stand up comedies? What makes you laugh?

(If you have a hard time thinking about things that make you laugh, think about the last few times when you had a great laugh. What were you doing? Who were you with? Why were you laughing?)

Your Task:

  1. Reflect and answer today’s question(s). Write as few or as many words as needed to fully express yourself.
  2. Do the things that make you laugh today! :D It can be one of the things you wrote for your answer to #1 or something else.
  3. Identify at least one positive thing about your day. It may be something small or something big – as long as you deem it as something positive, it counts. If you have more than 1 thing to share, then by all means, go for it!

Share Your Answers!

After you are done, share your answers in the comments area.

If you’re doing this at the start of the day, you can post your answer for today’s question first, then work on your positivity task throughout the day, then return at the end of the day to share your results for your positivity task and your end-of-day positive reflection.

Check out other participants’ answers. Pick 1-2 participants’ answers and make a meaningful reply to them. Engage in the discussions. This is a group course, so let’s support each other in these 21 days!

Look forward to reading your responses!

    – My cat, so sweet and funny
    – My boyfriend, when he behaves like a baby or tells good jokes ;)

    What makes me laugh?

This is easy, my husband. I catch myself praising him a lot during these challenges, it makes me realize how big of a part he has in my life, and how he impacts me day to day.

My husband has the best sense of humor. It is what drew us to each other in the first place. He’s very witty, and has a dry sense of humor. Most people probably don’t understand him, but I do. I think us both having a sense of humor and just being generally happy people really makes our marriage work. We don’t sweat the small stuff, we are able to laugh it off, or make fun of ourselves. Don’t get me wrong, when we have a serious issue that we need to deal with, we set our sense of humor aside and deal with it. We know there is an appropriate time and place for laughing and jokes.

Basically, we just have so much fun together and we really enjoy each others company. We laugh everyday, talk everyday, and fall in love more and more every day. I’m so thankful that we have such a blessed marriage.

One positive thing about my day: I spend the morning with my dad. We went shopping and had lunch together. He’s moving in a few months, so we are trying to spend as much time together as we can. We are pretty close. I really enjoyed our time together today.

  3. The things that make me laugh are kids by the things they say or do. It is usually very funny. I also laugh with some of the stuff on facebook!!! They have some pretty funny things on there. I also laugh when I am completely exhausted because I say off the wall things. I also laugh when I call up my best friends. We laugh at something.

One postive thing about today is my mommy made me breakfast and I feel really alive today!!!!

  4. What makes me laugh?

 (1) Playing with my cat Orange (2) Watching movies like “Galaxy Quest” (3) Watching TV series like Black Adder, Yes Minister, Flight of the Conchords, Jeeves & Wooster, and The Class (4) Watching animated films like Shaun the Sheep (5) Being with my colleagues (6) Laughing at myself (7) Listening to Russell Peters’ stand-up comedies

:D Re-watched Galaxy Quest movie DvD and still laughing at the silly antics and funny lines in the movie. Tim Allen & Alan Rickman are at their best.

 The one positive thing about my day today was to have a good lunch with my colleagues from work.

  5. Comedy shows without profanity.
    My Grandchildren
    Funny things people say!

  6. Irony! Irony that was there the entire time that took me a long time to notice! Those times when the Universe has it’s way with us.

I had a really great conversation with someone in the neighborhood.

  7. Sorry, Im a bit behind with my post, but better late than never I guess…..

Well, my funny friends and other people.
    Sometimes my own stupitity :-)
Good comedy, movies and comedy shows.

I like to be silly sometimes and make myself and my friends laugh :-) it feels so great to do that !

A positive thing about yesterday, was that I spent the day doing what I love with the people I love

  8. 1. Being with my friends. We joke around a lot, and have several ‘in jokes.’ We also have a very similar sense of humour.

    2. Watching comedy shows.

    3. My parents make me laugh, too – they have a fantastic sense of humour.

A positive thing about my day was that I spent it with the friends from 1), and yes, there was a lot of laughter. :D We all had dinner together (we bought a load of food and made fajitas) and it was really, really lovely. We also went to a drama production that some of our friends were in, which was hilariously funny as well and really, really well done. Another positive thing (although it won’t sound it at first) was that I twisted my ankle in aerobics. It was excruciatingly painful, but when I went to get an ice pack for it, I told the First Aider that I have a 5km race next weekend. He said that so long as I rest this week, I should be fine :D Also, one of my friends, who’s nearly finished his medical degree, took a look at it and gave me some advice on how to strengthen it this week. I should be fine for next week’s race :)
I’ve also been getting a lot closer to a couple of my friends recently, because we’ve been seeing them a lot more. I really, really love that.

  9. I laugh easily and spontaneously, and when I start I often couldn’t stop myself. The things that I find funny are jokes which I receive on emails, some are really good ones, another is my partner’s silly antics and idiosyncrasies, just cracks me up. I also love telling funny stories that makes people laugh, and when they start laughing I laugh along as well. Sometimes people’s seriousness with certain things tickles me as well.

I’m down with flu today , coughing alot, so I stayed home to rest, I was afraid laughing too much might make me cough and jerk my funny bones!

  10. Again positivity is all around my life even some of my friends got same surprise news about work…

Life makes me laugh with all its funny ways and things from big to small…and everything in between.
I am making this short but this question has infinite answers ….

  11. What makes me laugh? Comedies and cartoons – specially old ones. Also my son and his expressions sometimes. Playing with my dogs.

  12. Lots of things make me laugh – people, animals, TV, movies, books, memories:)

Good thing for the day – feeling I’m getting my life back together – organized and happier:)

  13. Jokes make me laugh. The old jokes are the best, like:
Q – What do you get when you drop a piano down a mine shaft?
    A – A flat miner.

    Or
Q – How do you start a teddy bear race?
    A – Ready teddy go.

I love Have I Got News for You? on the TV

    My cat makes me laugh

A friend called Catherine makes me laugh

    My brother makes me laugh.

Task – I’m doing this a day late, but did watch an old episode of Have I Got News for You last night with Bill Bailey hosting and I was laughing out loud!

Positive for Day 17 – Today my husband and I booked a week’s holiday for the end of April. We somehow always seem to book holidays near nuclear power stations! We don’t set out to do it but I guess it’s because we try to go to remote corners of the UK for the sea, bird watching and walking – and nuclear power stations tend to be situated in these places. So we’re off to Dungeness soon. Now that makes me laugh!

  14. My son Gabriel makes me laugh! So does my family and Gabriel’s dad. My friends that make me laugh. Comedies like black books, father ted and scrubs make me laugh.

Although I hadn’t checked the tasks yesterday I told my friend on Friday evening that I feel like I need more fun in my life. Then yesterday we went running and went to a market with some other friends. We had a great laugh!

One positive thing about my day yesterday was watching a lim called ‘Inside I’m Laughing’, an Irish film starring James McAvoy about two disabled men who take life into their own hands. It was funny and inspiring!

  15. Although I smile a lot and make cheerful comments, I’m not really a laughy type of person.

I sure wish I was! I’ve learned over the years that my genuine chuckle is fine, but I’d love to have joyous deep-belly, infectious laughter that many of my friends have.

Silliness makes me laugh … and I’ll often comment to my friends that they’re funny!

Sometimes I’ll laugh out loud at movies or television shows, or at a paragraph in a book.

My positive today will be doing my laundry, as I love fresh bedding!

  16. JadePenguin 13 years ago

    Watching Big Bang Theory! :D
Also some lecturers and certain friends. Sometimes I myself too :P
And daily webcomics. Therefore, this was a pretty easy task ;)

Yesterday’s ++: allotment party! We got some things planted and cleared out the hedge to allow our brambles to grow. It’s looking better and better!! :)

  17. I am a bit late but I’ll answer anyway. What makes me laugh:

Funny movies and cartoons, like Tom & Jerry, Mr Bean, all movies with Louis de Funes (French actor)
My husband talking during his sleep
    Jokes and funny articles
Looking at old photos and remembering the funny events

    Good things for the day:

My husband is back from work
I went to Zumba with two good friends ( we had a good laugh as we performed some Irish Dancing in celebration of St Patrick’s Day)
Talked with my mum on the phone

    • I like old Louis de Funes movies as well – always laugh a lot
Old movies have a different kind of “charme”

      • Thanks Ish, that’s true, they are the best!
        Have a great evening.

    Positive for the day:

Spoke to one of my good old friend after very longgg time and was really excited to meet her this weekend :)

PS : Sorry, My Internet was not working. So can’t able to reply on the day itself.

  20. What Makes You Laugh?

I’ve always loved stand up comedians ever since I was a kid. I think their hilarious. I have a lot of respect for the craft. It takes a lot of courage and talent to get up in front of an audience and make them laugh for a half hour. Two of my favorites are Louis CK and Patton Oswalt.

One positive thing that happened to me today was I received several compliments from grateful customers.

  21. I find humor in many things. I laugh at my daughters being silly. I laugh at any funny thing I see on t.v. or read. I laugh with my friends about silly things or things of the past. I laugh at some of my worst situations because once I speak them aloud, they seem almost laughable.
I laughed today watching my girls. I was laughing this morning when I first opened my eyes and a sitcom “My Name Is Earl” was on and it is so funny to me.
I can find a lot of things to laugh about and I think that is what keeps me going.
My positive today: Went with my god-daughter to have her son’s 3 month old pictures taken and my two girls had their pictures made in their Easter dresses. It was warm outside and all together a nice day.
