21DPC Day 4 Question
Today’s positivity question is:
What Is Your Favorite Movie? And Why?
While we’re on the topic of movies, check out the following PE articles on inspiring movies:
- 13 Meaningful Movies With Important Life Lessons To Learn
- 8 Personal Development Lessons To Learn From Inception
Your Task:
- Reflect and answer today’s question(s). Write as few or as many words as needed to fully express yourself.
- Share your favorite movie with someone.
- Think of someone in your life who may enjoy (or even benefit from) this movie.
- Now, share this movie with him/her, whether by way of a verbal recommendation, by lending him/her your DVD/VCD (if you have it), by buying a copy for him/her (if you want to), or even inviting him/her over to watch the movie together in the upcoming weekend.
- The point of this is to share the love and joy you’ve experienced from this movie with someone else. He/she may well be inspired by it in the same way as you have.
- Identify at least one positive thing about your day. It may be something small or something big – as long as you deem it as something positive, it counts. If you have more than 1 thing to share, then by all means, go for it!
Share Your Answers!
After you are done, share your answers in the comments area!
If you’re doing this at the start of the day, you can post your answer for today’s question first, then work on your positivity task throughout the day, then return at the end of the day to share your results for your positivity task and your end-of-day positive reflection.
Check out other participants’ answers. Pick 1-2 participants’ answers and make a meaningful reply to them. Engage in the discussions. This is a group course, so let’s support each other in these 21 days!
Look forward to reading your responses!

I loved “Excalibur.” Beautifully told, majestic music, heroic tales, legend, myth, the real….good triumphs over evil…wondrous casting, wonderful visually….Just magnificent. The images have great “staying power.” Seen it many times. Love all the above. Just like why I love the Tolkien Trilogy….utterly classic, engaging all the senses, as well as the higher senses.
Also just LOVE that recent instant classic, for me, at least, “Hugo,” Wow, what a perfect film/story, for so many reasons! I watched it the next day…once wasn’t enough! What a brave young boy who stood up for, Showed up for what he believed in. Just wonderful. He rose above all hardships, kept focused on his vision. All things tolled, he rose to great heights, and being selfless and loving took him there. Gotta love “Hugo!”
I LOVE reading all these posts about everyone’s favorite films. I have about 50 favorites. At least! ;)
POSITIVE TODAY; i AM STILL HERE AT THE LAST MINUTES, WONDERING IF THIS WILL POST, AND IF ANYONE WILL EVER LAY EYES ON IT!!!! LET ME KNOW IF YOU DO!!! :D
(KINDA LIKE A MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE TYPE THING ;) :D
I LOVE CELES AND PE ….SOOOO INSPIRING!!!!!!
Blind Side – It’s a true story, I love true stories. It’s a movie that show that we should not categorize people of different ethnic groups. It shows how love can change a person’s life and it has nothing to do with the color of a person’s skin, where they live or whether or not they are part of your biological family. Great Movie!
I like inception. You never know if hes deaming or awake. Take a leap of faith.
And I like kill bill. I love to identify with Kiddo. Its all about revenge against people whi did wrong in the past.
And i like sucker punch. Everyone hated the film. I liked it. I love to identify with baby doll.
And i like rom-zom-coms like shaun of the dead. I always think i am surrounded by zombies in real life ^^
And I like the matrix part 1. The world is a illusion. Take the blue pill..
I can identify with films that ask questions about the “reality” – what is true and what not? And I like to identify with women who were victims of violation.
I will watch kill bill with my boyfriend. he already knows all the other films. It is a long lasting thought of mine. Now I will make it reality :)
hmmm. I do not have a favorite movie IN fact I tend to like a lot of bad movies like horror and anything involving zombies. Movie time for me is adventure time. I do not like anything sappy or romantic comedies….eww.
One pos. thing. that happened is I was able to put my daughter into bed early.
What Is Your Favorite Movie? And Why?
I saw quite a few films that I enjoyed very much. Please find some of them below:
Kung Fu Panda – http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0441773/
The bucket List – http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0825232/
Yes Man – http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1068680/
Chocolat – http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0241303/
My favourite one is definitely American Beauty – http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0169547/
I adore this quote from the film:
“It was one of those days when it’s a minute away from snowing and there’s this electricity in the air, you can almost hear it. Right? And this bag was just dancing with me. Like a little kid begging me to play with it. For fifteen minutes. That’s the day I realized that there was this entire life behind things, and this incredibly benevolent force that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid, ever. Video’s a poor excuse, I know. But it helps me remember… I need to remember… Sometimes there’s so much beauty in the world, I feel like I can’t take it, and my heart is just going to cave in.” (Ricky Fitts)
As a daily task (on Sunday) I convinced my boyfriend to check out the romantic comedy about cultural differences, stereotypes and life in France. Film points out some of the strange behaviours concerning both French and American people. We saw together a film that a friend recommended me years ago: “Two days in Paris” – http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0841044/
This is a great story, we laughed very much as this is all so true, even though a little exaggerated. He is French and we live in Paris so obviously we had lot of fun watching! ;)
Please feel free to test some of these films, if you have not yet done so! Enjoy! ;)
Wishing you All a beautiful day!
Warmly,
Paulina
Well like many of you… impossible to just name 1…and why should we. Different movies effect us differently… depends on my mood or what genre I am targeting so here is my “short list”
Dialog/relationship: “When Harry Met Sally”… classic Billy Crystal with Meg Ryan, finding love after 13 years of knowing each other. it’s raw honest and funny. Love the clips of the elderly couples talking about how they met each other. If only all relationships could be so honest and open with each other.
Comedy: if i have to pick 1… So i Married an Axe Murderer…. well any Mike Myers film really. He’s brilliant and always a mood lifter!
Human Endurance/tests of spirit: Shawshank Redemption/ Babel/ Blood Diamonds
I haven’t recommended any of these movies in awhile so I need to find someone to pass on these DVD’s
Todays’ PPP- (pleasently positive procurements)
Helped a little old lady figure out the ticket situation to ride our subway…she was way lost… couldn’t speak her language but we got her on the train.
I offered to host a baby shower for a friend next month… she was delighted and it makes me feel good to do it.
There are many wonderful movies but two of my favorites are Michael and Blind Sided. They are both about trust and the healing power of love. I don’t know who I would recommend them to as everyone in my circle has seen them.
I spent a very pleasant time with my nephew today. I don’t see him often and it was good just to talk about happy things.
What Is Your Favorite Movie? And Why?
One of my favorite movies is Cansada de Besar Sapos, or Tired of Kissing Frogs. Why? Well, the ending got to me.
For me, endings are crucial, and need to be well done. I don’t believe in rushing, leaving loose ends, or throwing a twist (illogical). For that reason, there are many movies people gush about I could care less about.
So when movies get the ending right, I am in love. I don’t want to spoil this awesome movie, but this movie just has such an amazing ending. Okay, it is like a fairy tale, but they never pretended not to be.
The character was just so unguarded, vulnerable, and forgiving. He was someone I wish I could myself be more like, and that’s why I loved this movie. Oh, and the great soundtrack.

A positive thing that happened today was that I lost myself in drawing. It took a bit of time to get there, and the results weren’t impressive, but the way the seconds became minutes which became a half-hour befor I looked up again, drowning out the scores of people that walked by…. it was simply amazing. They say to sing like no one’s listening, dance like no one’s dancing… well, I get it… cause when I draw, I draw like no one’s looking.
