Day 20 Review

Yesterday’s question was: “What Limiting Beliefs Are You Holding On To?“. (Read the responses.)

Limiting beliefs are the biggest inhibitor to growth. While many people are quick to single out money / time / resources / networks as the reason why they are not achieving X things, I firmly believe it is our attitude, and nothing else, that determines whether we succeed in our goals or not.

All of us have beliefs. And believe it or not, we have more limiting beliefs than we realize. It’s just a matter of whether we’re conscious of them or not. One tell tale sign on whether we have limiting beliefs – If we are still in the process of achieving X goal vs. having achieved X goal, that’s a clue that there is/are limiting beliefs blocking us from achieving X goal right away.

After all, when you have people like Wilma Rudolph, who was handicapped as a child due to a series of life threatening illnesses as an infant, but later overcame all odds to walk, run, join her school’s track team, win 3 gold medals at the World Olympics, break the Olympic record for 200m dash and become hailed as “The Tornado” and “the fastest woman on earth”, there is really no reason why we can’t achieve any of our goals. The “reasons” we cite become no more than flimsy excuses and cop-outs.

Some of you have openly shared your limiting beliefs, and I’m very proud of you for doing so. Like you, I have limiting beliefs too. My limiting beliefs include: I’m not good enough, I’m not pretty enough, I’m not achieving enough, I’m not worthy of love, I’m all alone.

I have cleared many limiting beliefs in the course of my growth journey, and as I dissolve away my top layers of disempowering beliefs, I realize I’m now dealing with fundamental beliefs formed when I was a small kid. While addressing them becomes more intricate since they are deeply embedded in the subconscious, it doesn’t mean it’s impossible – it just means it’s time to look deeper. This is also a sign I’m moving forward in my growth, which is something to celebrate about.

As I mentioned yesterday, yesterday’s question is a precursor to one of the important tasks we will be working on in the upcoming Live a Better Life in 30 Days Challenge. Keep a note of your answers, because we are going to do a deep dive into them come Day 25 of 30DLBL! If you haven’t signed up yet, hurry and do it now – we’re kicking off in 3 days time!

With that said, let’s now move to our last question for 21DJC!

21DJC Day 21

Having answered 20 questions, the last question for 21DJC is:

What is Your Biggest Wish for the Future?

Girl sitting on cliff

As you look onward to the future, what would you say is your biggest wish – one that you are most passionate to see happen?

(This is the last question for 21DJC, so put your best foot forward and make your answer count!)

Your Task Today:

  1. Reflect and answer today’s question. There’s no word limit – whether minimum or maximum. Write as few or as many words as you want. It’s all up to what you want to express!
  2. Share your answer. After you are done writing, copy and paste your answer in the comments area and post it there.
  3. Check out other participants’ answers. Other participants will be sharing their answers too, so feel free to read and reply to their answers. This is a group course, so let’s support each other in these 21 days.
Look forward to reading your answers!

Once again, this is not the last post for 21DJC. Stay tuned for the final post tomorrow, where you get to post your feedback and round-up what you’ve learned in the past 21 days.

  1. My biggest wish for the future would be financially independent and physically energetic. Though money is not my final aim, but it’s important for me to reach my goals, also I definitely need to be strong to do celebrate my achievements so, in short, I think money and health are my biggest wish for the future. :)

I thought it was having my hart professions come true was the most important thing in the world to me, but now that I’m thinking about this, what I hope from the deepest part of my hart is having that worm family that I dream about. This is not only up to me but the part that corresponds to me I hope I’ll do perfectly.

  3. Since I believe the biggest change starts from self, I concentrate to what I wish for myself.

Don’t let failures stop me for prolonged periods. Just do things, but not overdo them, so I would have strength to continue. Balance. Peace of mind.

  4. My biggest wish for the future is to live my life according to God’s will. I know if this is what I do I would be doing my lifes purpose and would bring me to what life has really in store for me.

  5. I wish I win millions from the lottery tickets I purchased in order to have my dreams come true such as pay all my debts including my mortgage, give some funds to the church and to charitable organization in my mind, shared them with my mom, brothers, and sisters and to the people, who helped me during my crisis and my recovery from the motor vehicle accidents, and to set up a charitable organization to help the poor, as well as to return to school to become a lawyer or a doctor to help the humanity for social justice and for health reasons. The last but not the least is to have a happier and simple life by becoming a religious nun.

  6. Although I love my husband and my step son and in the big picture I don’t feel like I’m really missing anything in life, I would like to have the experience of having another child (possibly more) with my husband. Meeting my step son the first time at the age of 12 and not having him live with us, but with his mom, makes me long to experience the whole thing, from start and then on. I really hope that I am lucky enough to be able to experience this at some point, but I know a lot of people don’t have the opportunities to do this and that if I’m one of them, I can have a great life anyway.

  7. My biggest wish is to always treasure my loved ones, and let them know through various ways that I love them – to always have gratitude for the things in life, big or small and give back to the world.

I also hope to work with young children, providing education for their needs.. whether it’s developmental delay & other special needs. Helping these young children with special needs, live to their best potential. Making their life as meaningful as possible, and empowering them to do so. :)

I also would like to grow spiritually, and develop mindfulness, wisdom and compassion for all. And never forgetting to enjoy the simple pleasures in life like hobbies – painting / reading / nature walks & flowers :)

Ok that’s it. This challenge has been fun!

21DJC#21: What is Your Biggest Wish for the Future?

My biggest wish for the future is definitely to enter an out-of-Lebanon university. My parents, well actually just my mom, is totally against this idea (as she always has been). But I still have few more months to convince her.

Other wishes for the future includes:
Becoming vegan, earning more money from my blog, finishing high school and entering university.

  9. to spend the rest of my life with my boyfriend,is my biggest wish in life.to have babies and have a home.

  10. My biggest wish for the future is that every day of my life can be filled with my life purpose. Every though, word and action I partake would be geared towards making this World a better place. I wish that we can have a world of peace and that Africa can develop and get rid of poor systems of governance, have development projects that can help the countries at least sustain themselves. I wish that I can have an Impact in Africa’s change for the better and the world as a whole. My greatest wish is to witness a better Africa; A better world!

  11. The day I most anticipate is the day I wake up to find myself living independently with the love of my life, exploring the world, in my own ways at my own ways and writing all of my stories with no limits in sight or simply doing what I am passionate about if I were to change my mind later on.

  12. Easy! That I overcome the limiting beliefs and become the person I want to be. It’s the key to everything else I want for me and my family.

  13. I wish for some nice and working internet connection!! haha
Anyway, I guess what I really wish for is good health for me and my family. I know the rest will come if I work hard enough.

  14. This is kind of nice to think about.

I wish for perfect health in the future. I have a chronic condition that I nevertheless believe I can overcome through positive thinking and living with really healthy habits.

I wish to become as productive and successful as I know I’m capable of. I’m frustrated almost every day with my lack of accomplishment. One of my greatest joys would be to end each day knowing that I’ve squeezed everything out of it.

I wish for the best for everyone in my family, especially the children. I hope the world we’re leaving them is not too screwed up to fix.

I wish for my country to not be so divided. We all live here and need to find a way to solve problems harmoniously, rather than just thinking those who don’t agree are evil. This seems to be in direct contradiction to someone above who wished that those who disagreed with him would just go away, so maybe our wishes will just cancel each other out. :-)

I wish the same thing for the world in general. Our similarities are so much greater than our differences. It won’t happen in my lifetime, but I’m cautiously optimistic. As bad as things are in many places, I do feel like there has been a lot of progress over the past few hundred years.
