Day 20 Review

Yesterday’s question was: “What Limiting Beliefs Are You Holding On To?“. (Read the responses.)

Limiting beliefs are the biggest inhibitor to growth. While many people are quick to single out money / time / resources / networks as the reason why they are not achieving X things, I firmly believe it is our attitude, and nothing else, that determines whether we succeed in our goals or not.

All of us have beliefs. And believe it or not, we have more limiting beliefs than we realize. It’s just a matter of whether we’re conscious of them or not. One tell tale sign on whether we have limiting beliefs – If we are still in the process of achieving X goal vs. having achieved X goal, that’s a clue that there is/are limiting beliefs blocking us from achieving X goal right away.

After all, when you have people like Wilma Rudolph, who was handicapped as a child due to a series of life threatening illnesses as an infant, but later overcame all odds to walk, run, join her school’s track team, win 3 gold medals at the World Olympics, break the Olympic record for 200m dash and become hailed as “The Tornado” and “the fastest woman on earth”, there is really no reason why we can’t achieve any of our goals. The “reasons” we cite become no more than flimsy excuses and cop-outs.

Some of you have openly shared your limiting beliefs, and I’m very proud of you for doing so. Like you, I have limiting beliefs too. My limiting beliefs include: I’m not good enough, I’m not pretty enough, I’m not achieving enough, I’m not worthy of love, I’m all alone.

I have cleared many limiting beliefs in the course of my growth journey, and as I dissolve away my top layers of disempowering beliefs, I realize I’m now dealing with fundamental beliefs formed when I was a small kid. While addressing them becomes more intricate since they are deeply embedded in the subconscious, it doesn’t mean it’s impossible – it just means it’s time to look deeper. This is also a sign I’m moving forward in my growth, which is something to celebrate about.

As I mentioned yesterday, yesterday’s question is a precursor to one of the important tasks we will be working on in the upcoming Live a Better Life in 30 Days Challenge. Keep a note of your answers, because we are going to do a deep dive into them come Day 25 of 30DLBL! If you haven’t signed up yet, hurry and do it now – we’re kicking off in 3 days time!

With that said, let’s now move to our last question for 21DJC!

21DJC Day 21

Having answered 20 questions, the last question for 21DJC is:

What is Your Biggest Wish for the Future?

Girl sitting on cliff

As you look onward to the future, what would you say is your biggest wish – one that you are most passionate to see happen?

(This is the last question for 21DJC, so put your best foot forward and make your answer count!)

Your Task Today:

  1. Reflect and answer today’s question. There’s no word limit – whether minimum or maximum. Write as few or as many words as you want. It’s all up to what you want to express!
  2. Share your answer. After you are done writing, copy and paste your answer in the comments area and post it there.
  3. Check out other participants’ answers. Other participants will be sharing their answers too, so feel free to read and reply to their answers. This is a group course, so let’s support each other in these 21 days.
Look forward to reading your answers!

Once again, this is not the last post for 21DJC. Stay tuned for the final post tomorrow, where you get to post your feedback and round-up what you’ve learned in the past 21 days.

  1. To be financially independent by working on alternate sources of income. I do want to start some business, but not sure which one and when?

  2. I want to play the exact role that God wants me to play in His Kingdom. That, i believe will accomplish all the other sub-wishes. Know in my heart that i am doing it, feel reassured, and completely safe.

For having the hole in my heart filled.

To feel more whole, more complete.

Having happiness, joy, peace, love and hope in my heart.

I wont feel so lonely anymore.

The greatest wish i have for the future (for myself) is to be truly selfish and giving, be my “real” self and not ideal self. I want to have a sinless soul, humility and love. No pride, no anger, no jealousy or covethness or all the other gross sins.

I want to give myself selflessly to the service of others….without any predisposed intentions or agendas.

I want to have control over myself, my emotions and thoughts.

    Have pure humility.

I’d like the world to have peace…and happiness. Eliminate world hunger, and wars. Create an open minded world, where people listen instead of just hearing. Where the walls of discrimination dont exist. Where sin doesnt exist.

  3. That I do not waste my talents and my life!

I have spent a couple of days thinking about this and I have so many things that I want to accomplish in my future. But recently I have been more focused upon my more immediate future. That being said my biggest wish for the future is to complete my first Bachelors degree and get a job that will allow me to complete a second Bachelors degree and begin my Masters Program so that one day I can start a life coaching business of my own in the local area offering a unique service to people that I don’t think has been offered in this area previously.

  5. That my children will be happy.

  6. What is my biggest wish for the future?

My biggest wish for the future is to get over silly things like hesitation, fear, that hold me back from pursuing my passion full time. I think I have a creative calling in life but I don’t pursue it to the best of my ability. I hold myself back by thinking I need my day job, I don’t know enough, I’m not talented enough, etc. Just a lot of lame excuses.

I would also like to have deeper connection with the people I love and also create new connections. i want to get to know more people. I want to make more friends.

  7. My Biggest Wish for the future has a few components, as it must, to be BIG. –

I wish for my son to find resolution to all of his problems. To find peace and good health. To find a fulfilling vocation, and make many good friends, and live a long and happy life.

I wish for my daughter and her husband to find great happiness and success together, and live long happy and fulfilling lives

I wish for my wife to be happy and contented. To enjoy all of her days in happiness and wonder.

I wish for all of my family and friends to have peace, prosperity good health and happiness.

I wish for the world economies to stabilize, and for countries to find peace and prosperity.

I wish for all who spread evil and hate – to be transformed, for the betterment of themselves and humankind.

  8. My best wish, but i prefer the term goal because i am going towards it, is that i write a powerful book which will truly inspire a lot of people and which will help change their lives and i hope that i will go world wide so it can affect as much people as possible. I wish that i will become a motivational speaker and a couch and that i will help people grow and of course that i will grow as much as i can. That is my personal wish/goal that i plan to come true as soon as possible.

And on a global level my wish is that some sort of global evolution of mind happen and that all people realize their true nature and potential and that that evolution will change the world as we know it. Hopefully it will be 21.12.2012 :)

Best wishes to all people that participated in this 21 days experience and continue to grow, we will meet again in some other challenge
    XOXO

yesss, I like this question:) Well I would love to see my future holding 1 a place of my own, 2 a career path I’m excited about and 3 someone to hold on to.

  10. To raise my sons in believing they can be(come) everything they can dream of!
And to continue developing myself, to become my best me

  11. My biggest wish for the future- to create a low-cost, eco-friendly alternative to electricity, something that even poor villages can use to become self-sufficient!

Next would be to have a baby soon, and be the best MOMMY in the whole world!

  12. I wish to grow emotionally, spiritually and physically, no matter what life throws at me. I wish to find happiness in the smallest of things. Thanks so much for this wonderful challenge–good luck to everyone :)

My biggest wish for the future is to Live Like I Was Dying. Love Like I was Dying.
Improve on the quality of my life daily so that I can help others improve on the quality of their lives. I am done being a victim, I am now a Survivor and I am beginning to Thrive to live life and enjoy all that it has to offer and share it with others.

  14. To see humanity go on into the next era in peace and understanding, knowing that we are one family, one species. As we become more aware of our commonalities, it makes less sense for us to continually fight one another on ethnic or national lines. We won’t achieve it in 2012, and we probably will not achieve it this century, but we’ll come just a little bit closer… I hope.

  15. Good Health. Happy Family. Healing Planet with less people on it. Heaven.

  16. My biggest wish for the future, would be that myself and my fiance are able to conceive a child. It looks likely that this would have to be through IVF, but I really want him/her to be my own and not to have to use donor sperm. I want to research into this field, find out as much as I can, and do as much as I can to give us the chance we really really want. I have most things I want, except this.

My second wish would be to fulfil my potential in my career and start growing my business at a reasonable but not unachievable pace, which in turn will allow me to attain my dream of living in a sizeable countryside property.

  17. My biggest wish is to find my balance and harmony, to be at peace with myself and the people in my life, to be in communion with God and my inner power every single moment. To grow and evolve and be able to help others as well. Because that is the only way I can have all the other things. Be the best version of myself and everything else will come naturally.

My biggest wish for the future is to become a mother. I want to be a wonderful mother, growing in consciousness with my children and my husband. Showing them the world with awareness and love.

this is my biggest wish for the future. <3

  19. There are a lot of things that I want to archive in life. For now I want to complete my apprenticeship and get a stable income which will help me to invest my money in property.BI also wish to meet a dedicated woman to make her my wife.I still want to upgrade my qualification so I can live a better life.

  20. To be happy and healthy. To have my writing published. To have a career that fulfils me and inspires others. To get over all my fears and become a better person. To not have money worries. To see the world. To have my family achieve all they want in the world, and for them to be happy and healthy also.

…these are all wishes I long for in the future. And my biggest wish of all is to have the courage, confidence and inspiration to be able to kickstart 2012 with a smile, and go on to achieve all of the above.

    :)

  21. My biggest wish for the future is to have happiness and peace with myself and my children. I want to accomplish some goals and get set on the right track in my life so I have time to sit and relax and feel secure in life. I believe this wish can come true if I prioritize things in life, work everyday to improve myself, and be a better person and parent. I’ve had a lot of rocky roads and some have left me drained and bitter. So my wish for the future is to set those aside, leave them behind me and just have peace of mind. Then I can make a positive impact on everyone around me including my children. To me, peace of mind is worth a lot in life.

  22. my biggest wish for the future, is to be free.

    financially free
    emotionally free
    free to allocate time

maybe the word ‘free’ seems bias or to wide, but for me, the word refer to standard set by me to be happy.

  23. My biggest wish is to continue to grow.

Cause if I continue to grow, I can make all the other wishes come true!

  24. Sailingawaytoday 14 years ago

That I sail around the world as I had hoped to do in Jan 2012.

  25. Stella Zorro 14 years ago

To have a life filled with love and serenity – not having to worry about the rent $ and other necessities, to get back to having loving relationships with my children, and to eventually find the perfect love relationship for myself – to simply have a safe place to rest my head – same as it has been since my capacity for wishing began as a small child.

  26. Sorry for any typos. I hope everyone has a great Christmas and New Year!

  27. My biggest wish for myself for the future is to be a good musician, artist, a Physical Therapy Assistant, soccer mom, just a perfect mom, wife, and so on. To be happy and living life to the fullest. To learn Greek, Spanish, and maybe even Italian. To travel to Europe and visit my family in Greece and Italy. To have a will, and better life insurance plans set up. To have a house a paid off car. Possibly even go back to school and get my Physical Therapy degree. Possibly even open up my own therapy company. To be physically healthy. Eating healthy and working out on a regular routine and have my family doing the same thing. Active in my church and going every Sunday morning. That is the begining of the list more intrest will come my way. That is it for now.

  28. To live as long as I want; and NOT want as long as I live.

  29. my biggest wish is to become a great and well payed actress

  30. A. Sendijja 14 years ago

It is very hard to grow and achieve massively to many people especially when there is a lot going around in the whole world. We constantly hear wars, conflicts, natural disasters, the economy and much more. Although with the natural disasters, not much we can do about it, we can at least learn and be more prepared to meet similar future situations thereby limiting disastrous outcome. We can also get together to work on our conflicts and drop our egos to make the whole world a better place. My biggest wish for the future is indeed that humanity will sit at the same table and share joy, trials and tribulation together and always find a common ground to sort out each others differences. A beautiful and peaceful world is indeed a very excellent place to live in, excel and grow.
