Hi everyone – Welcome to Day 18 of 21DJC! :)

Closing of 21DJC and Year End Challenge for 2011

Just a quick note that we only have 3 days left till the end of our 21-Day Journaling Challenge. We started on Nov 7, and 2.5 weeks have already passed by since. I hope all of you are gaining valuable insights from the journaling, because I know I definitely am.

On Nov 27, which is this Sunday, 21DJC will come to a close. A few short days after that, we will be launching right into our highly anticipated Live a Better Life in 30 Days – the premium, 30-day life development course at PE. Started since Sep ’10, we’ve since had 3 successful runs of 30DLBL, and Dec ’11 will be the 4th official run of the course. This will be *the* challenge for us to close off 2011 and start off 2012 with a big bang.

You must definitely not miss this. I’ll be opening for sign ups very soon (in a couple of days), so stay tuned. Make sure you’re on the newsletter so you’ll get the announcement directly in your inbox.

Day 17 Review

Yesterday’s question was: “If The World Came To An End Today, How Would You Feel?“. (Read the responses.)

With year 2012 coming up in less than 40 days, I thought it would be an interesting question to ponder upon. 2012 has been commonly associated with the end of the world, and while I personally do not believe the world will end in 2012, I think it’s still something worthwhile to consider.

If the world came to an end today, I would first feel sad, because the immediate thought was I would not be able to continue pursuing my purpose (in the current form). I’m experiencing so much joy doing it that I don’t want it to ever end. And certainly not via the expiration of the very civilization I’ve devoted my life to serving, too. That would be very devastating to me.

That said, I understand that whatever will be, will be. If the world was to truly end today, there must be a good reason behind it. For every ending, there is a new beginning, and I believe there will be new things in store for all of us ahead. I personally believe the human spirit lives on after death, so I’m not too hung up about issues concerning life and death.

For what it’s worth, if the world does indeed come to an end, it probably means we (as a civilization) have finished fulfilling whatever we are meant to achieve (when the world was first created) and that it’s time to move on to the next stage in our evolution. So that’s actually a very good thing, and something to look forward to.

With that said, let’s now move to today’s question!

21DJC Day 18

Today is the 4th last day of 21DJC, and the 4th last question of the challenge. Today’s question is:

What Matters Most To You?

Silhouette of a woman facing the sunrise

Having lived X years of your life, what would you say are the things that matter most to you? Is it money? Is it material possessions? Is it spending time with your loved ones? Is it seeing the smile on their faces? Is it seeing the sun rise every day? Is it good health? Is it achieving your goals with excellence? Is it being the best person you can be? Is it to live to the fullest?

Your Task Today:

  1. Reflect and answer today’s question. There’s no word limit – whether minimum or maximum. Write as few or as many words as you want. It’s all up to what you want to express!
  2. Share your answer. After you are done writing, copy and paste your answer in the comments area and post it there.
  3. Check out other participants’ answers. Other participants will be sharing their answers too, so feel free to read and reply to their answers. This is a group course, so let’s support each other in these 21 days.
Look forward to reading your answers! :D

  1. – growing to be closer to my ideal self
    – my partnership – healthy relationship
    – my parents and siblings, their happiness
    – to be successful, and more important, meaningful in what I do
    – to be in peace with myself

  2. What matters most to me is to have lived life to the fullest, to have seen the natural beauty that God has made, and spending time with family and specially living my life according to God’s will.

  3. To be surrounded with people whom I love and who love me. To feel grounded and connected to myself and others. To spend time doing things that make me happy. To take care of myself, both mentally and physically. To help others around me.

  4. For the years that I have lived I have realized that what matters most to me is eternal peace… such what I value most is when I am at peace with self which can only be achieved when I am in good terms with the people and things that matter most to me. This includes my family, good friends, and living my purpose and doing the things I had tasked self to do.

  5. What Charles said!!! I couldn’t have said it better.

21DJC#18: What Matters Most To You?

The number one thing that matters most to me is earth’s global consciousness. Which represents the average of all human consciousness. Hence, anything that contributes to raising that higher consciousness is of a great importance to me.

This includes things like growing, living life to its fullest, self-awareness, gratitude, early rising, being vegan or even raw vegan, peace, silence, meditation…

These are the things that I live for, these are the things that I seek to create more of, to share with others, things that matter.

Oh yes… music matters a lot to me too (:

Not worrying or wondering how the bills will be paid and when. With that issue out of the way it, I think is eaiser to concentrate on other ideas and goals.

  8. Love is most important and my loved ones health and happiness. I could care less about money and material things. Love makes life worth living.

    • My son is the very most important thing to me. I realize I probably didn’t make that clear. Love life second. I can live without love and I can’t live without my baby. His future and his life is most important to me in this whole world and it always be.

  9. What matters the most to me would be my son, husband there health and happiness. My family, and friends health and happiness. Achieving the goals I have set for my self and living to the fullest. For me to live life with passion and happiness.

  10. My family and friends. Happiness. Health. Sticking to my values. Courage. And appreciating every day I have.

having fun, being with the people I love, health, being honest, love, being a good person.

  12. As much as I hate to say it, I think approval of others is what matters most to me. Being a good daughter, wife, mother, friend, boss… making sure that not only that I treat others well and fairly, but that they feel that I treat them well and fairly. I think that is an unrealistic goal as others don’t always feel that you make decisions with their best interests in mind.

  13. If I could only keep just one thing in my life, it would be my close family – mum, dad, brother and fiance. I keep thinking I would love to write a letter of gratitude to my parents – I would be rubbish saying all the things I’d like to say. There is so much I would like to thank them for, and you never know when it would be too late (although they’re only about 60 so they should be around for a while yet – but you just never know). I keep thinking it, but I never do it, I must! My life wouldn’t be as amazing as it is if it wasn’t for them – I am so lucky. I also believe my fiance plays a huge part of who I am now, and I know I would be a lesser person if I wasn’t with her. My brother has been superb as a friend and almost a third parent – again a huge part of who I am today is down to him.

I used to be very house proud, when I owned my own house. Everywhere would be spotless and tidy. Then I sold my house to move in with my fiance, and she isn’t as tidy as me, and it bugs me that the house is not as tidy as I would have it. My home is a big thing to me (not talking about physical size). We currently live in a less desirable ex council house, but really it’s quite nice, but society doesn’t like them and therefore it’s cheap as! But the dream is to move into some sort of old farm house in the country and that is a big goal of mine. This s probably my main goal in life, and all others tie into it. I want people to be able to come round to a lovely house where we can entertain them and they can love to be with us (they probably love to be with us, the house prob doesn’t matter that much to them).

My career is also important to me. I am a director of a company. I enjoy the work I do, but I feel a bit like a perfectionist – not that the work I do is perfect, but I always feel I could have done the task better. I work longer (wouldn’t say long compared to some) hours but don’t always manage my time effectively – and again therefore I feel I could do better. I beat myself up about my performance at work regularly, whereas everything else I am happy with. I always feel I should do better, but there is so much to know, learn and do, I think it’s probably just a continual learning process and I shouldn’t feel so bad about it. I rarely meet my targets, but do sometimes. I need to grow my business instead of shying away from the thought of it.

My health also matters to me of course. I am very lucky in all health respects except some fertility issues which we’re working on. If there is just one thing I could change in my life, it would be that I was fertile. But this I cannot control, close family, home life and career, I can.

    first thoughts:
    – family, friends, independancy, freedom, laughing, nature, health
    second thought:
    – that I finally ended sleepwalking and be more aware and spiritual
    third thought:
    – love (I think this word keeps the world within, all the things I mentioned above and much more far beyond these things)

  15. What matters most to me are my friends, family and loved ones. I really care for their well being and I would want to do what i can to help them in anyway because they’ve been there for me so many times and we’ve grown together over the years. I can’t really imagine my life without them and I know they would want to do the same for me.

I also care about my own self development. I feel like as long as I move forward and try to grow as a person I can develop the skills, insight and experience necessary to live the life want. I know that I didn’t used to think this way but having experienced so many things over the course of my short life I realize i have so much more ahead of me and that makes a difference. I know I would be happy knowing I can care for my loved ones and be able to pursue my ideal self

  16. My time right now. I always feel like I don’t have enough time. But I think it’s really just a wall that I am at. I spend way to much time online, but I want to spend more of my time with people. I’m running a fine line, and getting burned. I would love to turn my focus from my lack of time to being able to read more books, hiking more, and getting to inspire people. Soon I hope to get there!

  17. I have lived for 25 years. The things that matter most to me are being able to live a healthy live as well as my family. If working like a machine and get a sick body, money is no matter at all. Physical, mental and spirit growth. Be a better person and able to help others. Not regret of what I do and not giving up easily. Follow my heart and do what I believe in.

  18. What matters to me the most?
I don´t know, I really don´t. This question made me think.
Feeling the wind on my face, enjoying the blue sky, a song, a movie, a poem, my family, my friends, my dreams, smiles, laughs, tears, all those little things in life that we can´t live without, those things that make life worth living. I don´t want money, I don´t want a big house or a nice car, the only thing that really matters to me is seeing other people happy, because no matter where you are or what you do, joy, smiles and laughs take you to a new universe.

  19. My family matters most to me. It provides the anchor for me to do well every time in anything I do. I will do my best to put its welfare above whatever personal interest I have.

what a great question to me what matter most to me includes my family i mean my wife children brothers and sisters and my extended ones to see that they are happy all the time and they all have what they need in life to be on their own i am most c0ncern about their health too . also anybody around me i am happy when they are happy

  21. My family and friends matter the most to me. I’m grateful to live in a nice house with food and heat, tv’s, computers, etc, but I’d give all of that up for my family. Looking out the window and seeing all the beautiful trees with squirrels playing in them is also important to me. Nature and all the beautiful and exciting things in it are important to me. Relationships with people is what matters most to me.

  22. nly 16 years so this question confuses me but I think it would be the little moments that seem insignificant but are actually those you will miss years later. I also thinks it matters to remember to live every moment at a time instead of saying next time because there will *never* be a same exact next time like this one. I’ve learned it’s now or never(whether it be goals, friends and family, feelings, etc) so I think that’s what matters most for me right now.

  23. What matter most to me is my son. To live my life openly, fully, truly to myself. Expose myself more and more. Send more positive energy to others. Grow everyday. Have freedom and happiness in everything I do.
